Wow, this reminded me about the time you got the samsung's s22 line teardown videos before release. Nice video, always interesting to see the internal parts of a phone. Could you tell us how large (in mm) the side, top and bottom bezels are? Thanks in advance

I'm not 100% sure, sometimes its possible but sometimes there are software restrictions.

Is the camera frame looks identical to pixel 7?. The P7 and P7P had camera glass breaking problem Do you think this will have same problem? What type of gorilla glass used?

It's similar camera frame, but a bit thinner if I am not mistaken. Not sure about the camera glass nor type of glass used.

I would ask do bend test BUT midframe looks solid. Edge cutouts for antenna in camera proximity. Make fail bend test for 7 Pro and looks 8 and 8 Pro they also have edge cutouts there.

Metal frame feels sturdy and good, back is ok but I personally like soft feel backs like those of etched glass or vegan leather etc.

I don't think it would be antenna related. A bad antenna would not cause IMEI loss and so forth. You may have a bad bootloader or firmware and would require flashing original firmware onto the phone.

I think its a good looking and feeling device. I used it for a short period of time, it wasn't bad at all but I am not a fan of optical finger print sensors so I prefer phones with ultrasonic fingerprint sensors.

Yep pretty much the same thing. On the flex cable it says V10 (version 10) compared to V4 on the 6A but not sure if its any different. Sensor looks exactly the same.

Can i remove the backwithout apply heat on it ?

yeah but would be more difficult to pry off since the adhesive would be stronger.

i cannot decide vetween buying 7 and 7a. The accessable plastic back I like more than pixel 7 inaccessible glass one. Spec wise 7 is a bit better tho.

Any guess as to why the 7A weighs almost the same amount as the 7? The chassis is smaller and the back is plastic. I would've thought it would be significantly lighter.

Not too sure, but might be the additional copper plate inside and some other stuff. But don't go based off initial rumored specs, since not all of it seems accurate for example the battery size. This is an actual retail unit and the battery size is smaller than what initially was leaked on some specs.

So why is this phone almost as heavy as the Pixel 7 despite having a plastic back?

Mr.pbk why my phone overheat I notice that the upper part of the screen and back was overheat what's the problem of this phone?

On the pixel 7a or another phone? It can be many different things. If the phone is being used, surfing the web etc, then the antenna is in use as well as screen being on generating heat and the battery as well on top of the processor. Heat is normal since the point of the phone is to remove heat from inside and exhaust it out of the phone. But if its really hot, then it could be water damage or the thermal paste or pads have worn out or dried up and don't work well to transfer heat.

I'm not too sure, I'm going based off unofficial specs. Apps like hardware info and so forth don't really give sensor type or name, and due to pixel binning only give the base pixel info from the looks of it. If you can decipher the info from those apps, let me know and I will send you screen shots.

Except that it is way harder to replace the battery than it used to be. It used to take less than 5 seconds to take a battery out and put it back in.

Is the vibration motor a downgrade? It's circular and could very well be not an X axis vibration motor :/

The newer generation circular ones or z axis aren't like the old ones they would use back in the day, they are better but still yeah the x axis ones are preferred by most

Man i really wish the Pixel 7 could open from the back like the 7a. I'd be much happier if google used a plastic back on the Pixel 7 rather than glass as plastic is more durable

built quality ..7a back comes with plastic frame 7 comes with glass back and feels expensive ....other then that they are quite similar ..maybe the screen is better on the 7 but over all u wont notice any diffrence

They still haven't learned 😔. Hopefully, they'll make the pixel 8 charging port removable, either by having its own daughter board or attached to a flex cable. Sucks that it's not removable. That's the only reason I've stayed away from pixel phones.

@@michaelcorcoran8768 ik. I hate the damn superglue they use on their phone screens and back glass. And until this year, on samsungs batteries. But they both have removable charging ports (except for the s10 series (and early samsung phones)). That's something that will break with years of use. Being able to open the phone up and replace it is great, but you can't do that with the pixel phones. They're soldered directly onto the board

Plastic, like Glass is not a conductor of electricity. Hence its able to allow features like wireless charging. Samsung and Palm has done it a while ago with the Palm Pre and the SIII

Yep, but the copper heat plate is a good step forward. Hopefully next time around they will implement a vapor chamber. Not sure on the modem.

The frame is not plastic, just the back lower and upper portion. The camera bezel is aluminum also.

hmm I would be very border line but I would lean toward the 7A with all the copper heat tape, graphite films and the copper heat plate. But I think I would prefer to replace the thermal compound with a different thermal paste, since this type of thermal compound that is like a rubber type (similar to that used in previous sony phones) I don't find being that well vs the thermal paste solutions.
