Windows 10 /11 make sure metered connection is turned off in the settings. Renaming folder just deletes all cookies etc and relaunches chrome from new. Then you have to sign in to everywhere etc etc. It doesn't really work.

@@bored_peanut I went to task manager and found out an unwanted program that wasn't supposed to be there and was taking up a lot of memory. Turns out it was a virus deleted it, computer back to normal. So just look for some anomaly

first shut down Google and then delete the default folder that Google created when you turn Google back on and shut down Google again and then remove the "old" part of the name that you had added
