This tutorial shows you how to set-up Google Breakout Rooms using the Chrome extension by Robert Hudek. It is approved for DoDEA teachers and students so I thought I would give it a go.
I work with elementary students and teachers. Anytime I can try something new, use technology to enhance collaboration, further discussion and engagement, then I am all about giving it a chance.
This tutorial is VERY long, but I hope you find it a little helpful. Our students really had fun trying it out and I had fun exploring the extension for myself.
This tutorial was made with younger students in mind. Students will require basic tech skills and following direction skills to be effective. I suggest introducing this after you have developed basic tech skills, good collaboration methods and good classroom management techniques.
