5 Tips for elementary teachers to make more engaging asynchronous videos for their students in remote learning.
Also included are my personal bonus tips to consider as you make videos.
Disclaimer - I am not a video editor, I am teacher 1st and strive to infuse technology when I can. I make videos to support my teachers and especially during this time of remote learning. We strive to keep our students engaged, collaborating and promoting positivity in all that we do.
Teachers are working so hard to keep our students engaged and learning at home.
Our school places big emphasis on asynchronous lessons with a desire that even the youngest students should use the tools independently, learn at their own pace and then during the face to face lessons, we focus heavy on collaboration and opportunities for discussion.
It is similar to a flipped model only EVERYONE is home 😉
Our goal is to make short, quality videos to teach material since we KNOW online class time is best NOT used for lectures.
We know during remote learning students need bite sized, chunked information that is engaging to keep them motivated and learning at home.
