My friend's daughter actually worked at couple Goodwills near ritzy areas... According to her they have the staff be on the lookout for luxury brands and high priced items... they then send those items to their warehouse where they sell those online

I live in Metro Atlanta. Used to find nice purses, shoes, jewelry. Not anymore. A worker at one store told me they hold all jewelry back for online auction and have someone who checks all merchandise before it goes on the sales floor. True? I don’t know. 🤷

CT reseller here. I was born and raised in Norwalk which is a town over from Westport and I’ve only been to that location once over 12yrs ago. Seems like they did an updated renovation. I remember they did have high end brands like Gucci, Louis V and Michael Kors purses behind the glass up front at the time but I do see comments about employees now keeping those items from the floor. What a shame. Also I have a video in the 2nd store you visited in Fairfield (not uploaded yet) but I was there in March last year. That is a newer location opened maybe 5yrs ago and I did find a few items to resell and a couple things for myself. I mainly source clothing (vintage tees) but will be expanding in the near future. Looking to go back that one soon once I catch up on my videos. But great finds in the media section and great video as always!

Dear Seller, FYI twice a year in Wilton, Ct they have a giant tag sale called Minks to Sinks. It might be worth your while to do shopping in this area on those days. I think sale is May and October. Get there very early on the first day - it’s gets mobbed 😂.

Hahahaha, Fresh Beat Band.....brings back memories for me, my boy was really into this show for a long time. He'd watch episodes over and over on our DVR lol. So much so that I started to sing their songs. Glad the show was not on TV for so long anyway, lol.

when your Samsung does that do you try airplane mode on and off that would be faster? Mine did that made me switch to a pixel lol.

Pro tip, if you drop service you don't have to fully restart your phone. Just turn on airplane mode then turn it back off after ten seconds. Your phone antenna got confused when transferring from one cell tower to another, and this gives it a hard reset.

When your service takes a crap try putting in airplane mode for a little bit, then take it off airplane mode and your service should get better, that works for me 99% of the time 👍

Just because a GW is in an expensive area means NOTHING! They may have higher dollar items donated there, but all the best items don’t make it to the sales floor. Corporate instead directs them to send those items in to be sold on the goodwill finds website. I live in one of the most expensive areas in the country and have made friends with local GW managers and have actually seen the printouts showing exactly what brands and such MUST be sent to corporate. The stuff that makes it to the floor is mid range at best, and the rest is literally junk. It’s pretty infuriating!

That were goodwill’s won’t take any printers that aren’t Wi-Fi. I tried to drop one off a couple of years ago and that’s what I was told. That’s why they monitor the drop off.

Nice to see the same stuff in nicer stores! The only difference is a nicer layout.

I live near to Goodwill’s in very affluent areas of southern California, and they do not have a plethora of high-end stuff. I actually see big taking a lot of the donated items away.

@@bunnybubs757 oh yeah 100% agree I work at goodwill, all the good stuff is put online and the junk is sent out for people to buy (with maybe a few good things, not sure how it is around your area)

The only time I will pay a bigger price for some thing is if I’m going to keep it course I don’t resell. I have stuff on marketplace but that’s going nowhere. I have to really really like it in order to buy it at a higher price.

That Westport store is a cash cow for shopgoodwill.

When your phone loses service like that, if you pop it into airplane mode for about 10 seconds, and then put it off of airplane mode you don’t have to reset it like you just did. It’ll search for towers.

I live in Cincinnati Ohio and our thrift stores or more like junk stores .If they do have anything decent the prices are ungodly ! I really think the ppl that run these places have lost the meaning of the word thrift!

Lots of videos on youtube on how to start. Its $39.99 a month. Packages range on how heavy you make them. But I usually pay around $12-18 per box. Each box can hold lots of board games and DVDs and Video Games and whatever you want to include up to 50 lbs

As I showed in the video, there weren't many items that differed from a normal goodwill. Clothing was overpriced. Hard goods were junk and I could have scooped up some printers but I already have a backlog of electronics that I need to test. It takes a lot of time to source, film, edit, list, pack and ship. I have to be picky with what I buy at the moment since I am low on space.
