With the way the thrift stores are pricing as of late, people are going to be more inclined to go to Walmart and others to pay similar prices but,the clothing will be new.

I wanted to do so much more with the editing but Im not super great at it lol. I’d disagree and say church rummage sales and city wide/community garage sales are way better than flea markets. Sucks if you don’t have them in your area though

Garage sales are better with pricing however Flea Markets usually have the same items for months upon end so you'd know what you'd find

@jaidentslgl2753 Yeah, but you can always bargain with a flea market seller. I low ball all the time and usually get what I want when I give them a reason to. It's kind of an art of bargaining, especially when the vendor is new. Yard sales will also be like that.

Yet if you do the same and put an ad up on a site, people ask for money for their items, or your posting gets flagged and removed. That's why a pay out a flat fee and still get items cheap. Cash paid for you junk. You still have to take it if it's useless junk with no value to provide a service. You can always drop off what you dont want at savers. I'm my own 1800 got junk.

I loved this video format! Really shows that different stores can have options worth investigating. We need by have savers in our area and it’s usually a dud. We hit up a thrift store in the gross part of Mesa and they had a special where you could fill a box with clothes for only 20 bucks. We got 25 clothing items in it and had stuff from Tommy Bahama, Nike, Neimen Marcus, and Banana Republic.

I ask for free items on Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace. I usually get what I want if I'm offering cash to haul it away at a flat rate of $50 to $200 a visit and make a profit back right away. It's like a storage auction but cheaper. I put the rest of the good stuff in storage and drop off what I don't want at a savers. They will take just about anything from furniture to broken 60" TVs.

I remember when thrift stores had "thrifty" prices...many years ago. Most of their prices are ridiculous and MORE expensive than buying something NEW at places like TJ Maxx, Ross, or Marshall's. Even some yard sales in my area are INSANE! It's like people are running a boutique in their driveway asking beyond eBay prices. Everyone uses eBay to research "market price", yet I find eBay to be cheaper than thrift stores, estate sales, yard sales, and FB Marketplace.

It's a business. They have employees to pay. Utilities and taxes to pay. Have you looked into the backroom where all the employees sift through the donations? It's ridiculous the amount of stuff they have to go through, inspect and price.

Most people do market research using eBay for their prices but they don’t actually look at the sold listings and what people are “actually” paying for the item.

We don't use Ebay where I work but we're not in the USA. So there's hope. Everything new we go about 50 to 70% of the retail price, the rest have either standard prices or we look at the comps over on a secondhand site and we go below that. Yet, people still complain about the high prices because they think thrift means nearly free since the stores get it for free. They forget that the stores have bills to pay as well. They all have the main character complex.

I think it really depends on the day between these 2. Sometimes I find more and better stuff for Savers one day and then its Goodwill the next. That white Nespresso Milk frother from Goodwill could sell for like $15-20 on its own. If it had the power base, might go for like $40. Nice challenge!

That toy drumset behind the AbLounge 2 almost looks like Guitar Hero or Rock Band drums... they no longer make them and depending on what console they're for, if they're wired or wireless, they can go anywhere between $85-$250 on e-Bay, not sure about Amazon.

Can you explain how you get paid / use the amazon reseller app. I'm only reselling on eBay / FB / Poshmark but have not dabbled into amazon. lets say you purchase all these items but how do you get paid from amazon? Im assuming it has to sell on amazon first instead of them paying upfront once they receive the item.

OMG, I am a big follower of yours! I live in the area and these 2 stores are my go to stores! I was in Savers on Sunday and had that Anime hoodie in my cart and put it back because I comped it wrong! LOL I hope you make bank on it!

I tend to go to all the local Goodwill‘s in the area. Savers for me is not as good as GW. I discovered red white and blue things to you! That is one monstrous store!

I sent 20 of an item in to Amazon nearly 2 months ago and they state they never received it. Another 12 items in the box have been processed and most sold. Now, Amazon wants an invoice to research any further, but they were purchased at Home Depot. Any thoughts here?

Just watch a ton of YT vids and make notes also just get out in the wild and scan, you’ll learn what to look for it just takes time.

I really think eventually everyone's going to gravitate towards flea markets & yard sales. Thrift stores are going to lose a lot of $ and wonder why. I would rather give $ to my neighbors than a company anyway. I still shop both, but lately, I have more luck at yard sales.

I've found garage sales more affordable than flea markets however flea markets usually have more items but you've gotta get up early in the morning. Garage sales usually start from 9am but flea markets usually open at 7am but gets busy around 9am til 12pm. Stalls shut from 1pm to where the flea markets close by 3pm. If there is a hint of rain, flea markets won't have as many sellers as what it does during a hot and sunny day.

Wow! I went to a few Goodwills around the U.S. this year and noticed a bunch of them selling stuff like that. Up in New England its mostly donations and Target Clearance

I was just at Brookfield Savers today, yeah nothing. They were cleaned out, and there were people looking for resell items. Idk what to say, pre-pandemic it was better, much better.

Last time I was there, I didn't observe any. Lots of shoplifting, saw a person steal a Wii game out of its case, like it was nothing.

Great video. I think goodwill over picks the donations nowadays. Their online auction is where everything nice ends up. Luckily, i buy unsorted donations for 70 cents a pound. Then i donate the leftovers for goodwill to sort out. 😅

I love NH. I wanna go thrifting up there this spring for sure. My dad lives up in Gorham so I go up there every so often.

You have to go to Savers on the 1/2 Off days. We have the same thrift store and Mondays everything is 1/2 off.

Savers sucks. I don't know what it is about the chain but the amount of good I've tried to source from there is pitiful whether its in Long Island, Connecticut, or Maryland. A while ago they purchased 2nd Ave Thrift Stores and, what used to be one of my favorite thrift stores, has become such crap that I can barely find good items to resell. What I despire is that they eliminated the two discount color system in favor of one that makes finding deals take much longer which at this point is not worth waiting for the price to go down 50% in 2 weeks. I found some of my best finds at 2nd Ave before it was purchased by Savers.

Goodwills near me sifts though their donations and auction off anything of value. It’s basically impossible to get vintage or designer clothes anymore. Same with jerseys and hats. And all the savers by me upcharges on everything so it’s hard to make a decent profit on anything.

What a shame. Lots of Goodwills do that now. Mom and pop shops are the way to go if you have any near. Also Tag Sales, Yard Sales, Garage Sales and the like

I always like Savers better than Goodwill in my area. The Goodwill has so many damaged items and they are asking new prices. I will say it also depends on the median income of the area where the Savers is located.

Pretty sure our 'Savers' is Value Village & it's ass in my city.

My local goodwills charge too much for too many things and because of that I think Savers is better because they have much more stuff that is priced to move. Goodwill likes to keep their items forever asking more than eBay does for some items.

Savers is better organized and seems to be cheaper. The Goodwill is such a mess, no matter what store I see on KZread, like the employees don't even care.

Savers is a publicly traded company for profit, i wouldn't except too much from them symbol SVV

Ive been doing this almost 10 years and I slowly but surely learned that I like having more time to do other things than pack and ship dozens of ebay orders every day lol. I still get multiple ebay orders daily, but its a nice sweet spot for me. I prefer having Amazon deal with customers and do my shipping. I still list on Ebay, Mercari, Amazon and FB Marketplace... and I'm a 1 man show over here. It gets a little tiring, especially while doing youtube videos lol
