I hate that Goodreads doesn't allow half stars either. YES to the reread option.
YES I NEED THAT RE-READ BUTTON I also review different editions xD

I didn't even think to do a different edition for re-reads.
I'm giggling quietly at the Feminism and Lit books. They will forever stay in my "did not finish" pile. I'll film my tag over the weekend. And I really want to read The Color Purple too (thanks to Oprah).
Okay, this sounds like fun, and I'm on a LOT of coffee, so... 1. Last book marked as read: Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. 2. Currently reading: The Once and Future King by T.H. White (re-reading, actually, love it) Life Debt (Star Wars: Aftermath) by Chuck Wendig (didn't like the first entry of the trilogy, but this is turning out a lot better), Willful Child by Steven Erikson (you wouldn't believe a book written by the same author as the gritty Malazan series could be this fraggin' hilarious, loving it) and The Dragon's Apprentice by James A. Owen (meh, I expected too much of this series, and it's not bad at all, only not what I was expecting). 3. Last book added to to-read list: Mardock Scramble by Tow Ubukata. 4. Using the star rating system: Yes, yes I do, and like you I hate Goodreads doesn't allow for half stars... or no stars at all. As in, it allows for you not to rate a book, but not to rate it as zero stars when it doesn't deserve any. There's one book I read recently that I loathed but had to read, and I had to settle for giving it a single star instead of none. 5. Wishlist: Yes... but not on Goodreads. I've one on Amazon, though, that's how I keep track of which books are coming out when (I usually shop per month). 6. Book to purchase next: Well, I've got a bunch of pre-orders on Amazon because this year I decided (foolishly) to shop yearly (don't ever let me have enough money to do this every again), so I'll go with Desperation and The Regulators by Stephen King, which I'm planning to buy together since they're mirror novels. Also on my cart The Adventures of Han Solo by Brian Daley and The Lando Calrissian Adventures by L. Neil Smith, which I've owned for years now (heck, got the old paperback covers from way before the Legends continuity being imposed), but I'm buying for my girlfriend now. Don't tell her :V 7. Quotes: Only one because it's long, but it's my favorite quote of them all... “Reluctantly Bastian's thoughts turned back to reality. He was glad the Neverending Story had nothing to do with that. He didn't like books in which dull, cranky writers describe humdrum events in the very humdrum lives of humdrum people. Reality gave him enough of that kind of thing, why should he read about it? Besides, he couldn't stand it when a writer tried to convince him of something. And these humdrum books, it seemed to him, were always trying to do just that. Bastian liked books that were exciting or funny, or that made him dream. Books where made-up characters had marvelous adventures, books that made him imagine all sorts of things. Because one thing he was good at, possibly the only thing, was imagining things so clearly that he almost saw and heard them.” ― Michael Ende, The Neverending Story 8. Favorite authors: Brandon Sanderson, Terry Pratchett, J.R.R. Tolkien, Guy Gavriel Kay, Scott Westerfeld, Arturo Pérez-Reverte, Neil Gaiman, Neal Stephenson, Brent Weeks, Clive Barker, Peter F. Hamilton, Daniel Abraham, K.J. Parker... yeah :V 9. Joining groups: Nope, I mostly use Goodreads to keep track of my own reading and rating books. I've a few friends, but I rarely interact with anyone other than one of my students (my reason for teaching) to whom I recommend and discuss books with often. 10. Other questions: The option to re-read, too. I don't normally add books I'm re-reading to my reading challenge (The Once and Future King I read way back before joining Goodreads, so I added it this time). Still, re-reads should count. Okay, caffeine overdoze is wearing off now, so I'll leave it at that, sorry for commandeering your comment section :V
I love love love that quote from Divergent haha, it's just great. Also, I completely agree with you on star ratings! You just don't get as much freedom as you should by not being able to use half stars.
I'm actually reading Clockwork Prince too! 😘😘
Yes half star ratings and rereads need to happen! I give so many book half stars so that would be a great addition!
I'd love a re-read button. Sometimes there's nothing better than reading an old favorite!!
The Color Purple is such an awesome book. Really, read it! It's one of my favs!
I just finished clockwork prince, and the first half was indeed pretty slow, but the story really picks up after that!
I definitely agree with the half-star system; I hate how I have to kind of debate on whether or not I loved it enough to round up or I didn't like it enough to round down.
Agh, yes! I need half stars on Goodreads!
thank goodness you said something about re-reads and changing the date takes away from previous challenges....I re-read one book this year that I read last year....so I had to fix that
I definitely think goodreads should have a reread option too! My three times in a row reading ACOMAF definitely should count as reading three books 😂
Half-stars and re-reads! Need them!
WOO, wanted you to do this for ages
Totally agree on the half star rating!!
I agree with the half stars and reread thing.. it needs to happen!
I agree, I would love half stars and the option to reread on Goodreads!

I've had to create a folder for re-reads but I completely agree, it needs to happen!
HALF STARS ARE NEEDED! It's so stressful to decide whether to round up or down. The books deserves a fair rating, lol.
"The Passage" is an amazing book!! it took me about 2 and a half weeks to read but it was so worth
Yes, I so agree on the re-read button!!
The Colour Purple is an incredible book, definitely read it when you get a chance!
I LOVED THIS TAG.. I COMPLETELY AGREE ON THE RATING SYSTEM 🤗
Thanks to this video I re-discovered a few awesome quotes I once added on goodreads :)
I really enjoyed The Passage trilogy! But just to forewarn you, they definitely needed to be edited quite a bit more than they actually were. There are portions that just really didn't need to be included (or at least could have been cut down considerably), but ultimately pushing through those bits is definitely worth it!!
I was wanting to read American Gods. I love reading Neil Gaiman. Hope you make it through that. After that one, by the way, is a sequel called Anansi Boys. Oh, I'm almost done with The Book Thief, it's a pretty sad story. There's a part I nearly cried at. But I love it. Happy Reading!
Please do a spoilery discussion video on HP & CC.
I hope you enjoy the passage, It's a long book but so worth it!
I'm reading Clockwork Prince right now too!! :D
And being able to search for friends
Great video, I actually had no clue that there was a third companion novel for Hugo Cabret :)
if you decide that you need a reading buddy for the passage and splitting into little chunks then let me know. I have it on my tbr. it's huge and intimidating me xx
I love your 2 recommendations in goodreads :)
I'm in the middle of American Gods right now. The audiobook is really good, and helps a lot with the slow pace!
I never even thought about the reread option! But that would be super useful. I would also like an easier way to format reviews on Goodreads. Having to constantly put in arrows and dashes when you want to bold or italicise something is really annoying.
I also have an issue with the Goodreads rating system, why not do the 1-10 scale instead of 1-5
@selenaDAS

I think it's easier to choose from 1-5 than from 1-10

I don't like the system either, I think they should have half stars.... I think the 5 star system is kind of a standard, based on the 3rd star, like... 3 stars is OK, 4 is better, 5 the best... oppposite with with 2 and 1 (worse and the worst)... is universally used. But it's true that sometimes we read an above average book but it's not really a 4 star, or a perfect 5 star book, on that way half stars, or the equivalent 1-10 system like you said, would be useful. Like, slightly above average 7=3,5 per say... I wish they changed that :/.

definitely! id much rather out of 10, or at least half stars. still love goodreads though :)

I love the 5 star system! :) I'm quite new to book reading. But in games media when there is a 10 star system all games tend to fall between 6 and 9, and 10 for the really outstanding titles. 1-5 is mostly left unused. This is even more the case when systems allow decimals, which gives the reviewer a total of 100 ratings to choose from. :P
@devonmunn5728

Yeah, I guessed that 1-5 is more easier, for me 1-10 fits me more, although having half starts on 1-5 is another version of 1-10
YES why doesn't Goodreads have the half star rating!?!?!?! Drives me absolutely insane!!!! I actually round mine up, but you make a good point that it's kind of even more misleading that way but ugh! Let's all just start a petition to add half stars on there 😁
Read Never Fade! It's honestly one of the best sequels out there.

This is really good to hear.
Goodreads has been saying they're going to make a re-read function for SO LONG but it hasn't happened yet! I'm actually so anal about my goodreads account being completely accurate with the editions and dates that I read books that there are a handful books that I want to re-read and I am literally just waiting for them to release this option so I can do it. (This probably sounds ridiculous :P but it's how my brain works)
I had to make a separate shelf for re-reads and add re-reads to that shelf. so it was never counted for my reading challenges
I started reading Clockwork Prince LAST year and I still haven't finished it. And I feel so bad because I loved Clockwork Angel and I want to finish TID but for some reason I can't read it. 😥
Please do a Cursed Child review when you've finished! :)
I READ HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD. I DO HAVE A LOVE HATE RELATIONSHIP WHICH I HAVE EXPRESSED IN MY VIDEO AS WELL
The cursed child is awesome! The marvels looks interesting, haven't read it. Let us know what you think of it :)
Need 1/2 and 1/4 star ratings!!!!
Almost all my ratings are x.5 so I also really want this
Ugh, the rating system and the fact you can't reread books really bugs me! My previous reading challenges are all effed up because I really enjoy rereading books and I do it every year.
Awesome video
Are you going to the David Levithan and Rainbow Rowell signing at Kinokuniya Sydney?
If you edit your review on goodreads there is an option to put how many times you've read the book, but it doesn't really help the issue you're talking about in the video just thought I would share that for anyone who doesn't know and wants to keep track of how many times they have read a book :)
I absolutely hate not being able to reread books. I don't like the review another edition thingy. As over the years I am going to read Harry Potter a lot (duh it's great). So it would be nice if the option came through. I actually researched this briefly yesterday and it turns out there are messages requesting this option that go back to at least 2012. So yeah, they are really taking in what users want :(. Maybe we should start a petition?
I feel like its going to take me so long to get tagged in tagged videos since I am a new youtuber. But I would feel weird doing tagged videos if I'm not getting tagged!
how can I create tags on my blog? Appreciate the help.
How do you favorite a quote and an author on Goodreads?

+julia kristin it's been so long since I've done either that I can't even remember! Hahhaa >.< all I do know is that there are sections/pages on the site dedicated to those features, which you can find through the menu options at the top of the page, so I'm assuming that if you visit those, you'll find how :)

I found it, thanks! I also wanted to say that I really enjoy your videos, you give such good recommendations. And you introduced me to read-a-thons which I didn't know of before, so thanks for that :)
American Gods is really a slow one, but once it gets to the last 30 percent, it gets interesting real quick
Second 😛
On average, how many hours do you spend reading per day?
do you watch tv at all?
