Thank you so much. I'm 62 and I'm not too tech savvy. I'm also new to Good Notes. I love to journal in color and adding little stickers and graphics. I also love to study the Bible so taking notes (in color) and expressing myself with stickers is fun to me. You answered a lot of my questions. I having problems with the type mode. Let's say I have an image or sticker and I want to annotate right below or above sticker it does not let me. When I write the words they show up at the top of page. Can you do a video on that please.

Excellent info. But new to ipad and new to Goodnotes. I am 74. This was a little fast but I got through it in a 2 hour sitting. I rewound and rewound. You are very easy to understand. Watching my iphone while practicing on my ipad. I will check out your entire channel. Thank you

All the other features except draw and hold and the shapes (which is basically the same thing lol) and i'm just using the free on windows 11. For the past 2 days it's grown me now honestly i haven't found anything that writes so well so far, sketchpad is decent and has a lot more features but it's just not as smooth and it's harder to write. There's not much you can do on free goodnotes but it lets you have lots of colours for your pens and make custom colours, then once you get used to drawing on it that's really all it needs if your not bothered about spending hours making your notes or something an art project lol you just want to make them more visual and colourful. Sadly i can't paste into another page or notebook, but i can open more notebooks by right clicking goodnotes in the taskbar then clicking goodnotes to open it again, then use snap screens to put the notebooks side by side, that's gotta be useful for somebody. I think it's a subscription feature to be able to paste into another page or notebook, which i don't think is right i don't see how that could harm anything but that's what they've chosen to do... it should be part of the free one too, so you have to just finish drawing something and then screenshot it and crop in another software. The best templates is wide spaced lined and grid paper because it helps you write straight, you just have to figure out the trick which is zooming in a bit which varies depending on the paper, and the best size to use is always A4 because you can draw anything on it. I can make templates with different coloured backgrounds by using the brush tool, setting width to max, and turning pressure sensitivity all way down to 0 and then i just color a page in while its fully zoomed out. Then i can export it as a pdf then import it and there doesn't seem to be a limit as to how many templates i can important but it has to be 5 megabytes only. You can create folders but it's not worth it when you can only have 3 notebooks but it's enough really. I can use the lasso by right clicking or setting one of the buttons on my stylus to right click and then i just hold the button while i lasso around, move, resize, or send to front or back and then i let go and it sends it back to the pen. The best pen like so many have said is the ballpoint pen because you can get more consistent writing, but the fountain pen isn't bad either you just have to play around with the thickness and pen pressure. I like to write my letters closer together it seems to look the best, and for titles i draw the letters bigger up to the top line it matches better to the rest of my writing, you just have to find out what thickness you like. I can create something in another software on a transparent background, save it as png, and then insert it into a goodnotes page and it accepts png files so i can make something in another software and then use it in my notebook. You could do this with text if you want to since there's no fonts with goodnotes free. Most of what i have is goodnotes 5 tools but so far it's doing what i need it to do and i've just started to make pictures out of all the maths notes i've done so far, it's all mostly textual instructions with some picture examples but i can do better. It makes it easy to take a screenshot of my colour palette using little circles to show my colours then i can use a dropper tool on another site if i ever lose my colours. There's still a few bugs for windows like little pieces of what i've erased comes back again and freezing sometimes, but other than that yeah goodnotes is super smooth to write with i just hope AI doesn't change it too much in future.

Excellent tutorial. I just bought an Ipad and am brand new to digital planning and Goodnotes. I learned a TON from this awesome video. Only one little point that I struggled to follow you: Learning how to edit the text box after creating it. You explained how to set the default very well, but I'm a little lost on how to efficiently modify the default text/color/size to something other than the default. Great job and thank you.

Thank you very much. Your video is well structured and easy to follow and understand. The only feature I am personally missing is how to change the handwriting recognition language. I do not mean just between English and German etc. but to Korean, that has a complete different alphabet like 한글
