Duke passed us up years ago.. I've been a die hard since Rex Chapman and Kenny Walker.. UK fans ruined our chances of getting a Bruce Pearl type.. Scott Drew turned us down because of our psycho fan base..Drew would have been a great hire

​@NoahFernandes-by4zo Duke doesn't belong in the top 3. Duke had one coach who made them relevant. UCLA at least had two coaches win a title there. Kentucky is the only program to win titles with 5 different head coaches. Kentucky, Kansas and North Carolina are ahead of Duke. If you're putting UCLA ahead of Kentucky than UCLA is absolutely ahead of Duke. No program has matched Kentucky in relevance and winning decade after decade.

Goodman's comment on Cal's staff is good. I don't know what the staff added. Certainly not zone preparation and defense basics.

Pope has had the better season for three years running now, even with lesser talent. Now he'll have much better players. At this point, Cal's main shot at the better season is the law of averages, which says eventually he'll have to win this comparison.

"Goodman: 'Mark Pope will have a BETTER first year than Calipari...'" ------------- That sounds like someone separately projecting after being hurt they couldn't get a more high profiled coach than Pope. LOL

Who cares who will have the best season. As a Kentucky Fan l do not care about Calipari or what kind of year Arkansas has! Who cares about these two? Calipari and Arkansas DESERVE each other. I’m ALL in on my BIG BLUE!

I agree, but if Cal reverts back to actually coaching rather than an NBA charity event, could be a decent first year.

My thoughts exactly. I’m sure Cal will go out and hire an “X’s and o’s” to help him make some in-game decisions. Last year he brought in Welch to help him fix his stagnant “dribble drive” offense. Too bad they couldn’t guard their own shadow though. When it happens, shame on him for being too stubborn make the changes he could’ve/ should’ve made at UK

This is a good point. So far, Cal seems to be repeating many of his frustrating habits from the last five years, but there's still time for some change.

Exactly Cal will bring talent anywhere he goes he’s proven that, but it’s to what level will the talent succeed before it’s time to hit the reset button with a new group of kids. I loved Cal every season until the inevitable would happen in March and an Oakland or Saint Peters would end the season early.

Mark pope knows the expectations here at KY he's also brilliant coach he runs a great off scheme spread everyone out or call it 5 out with all the curls & rejects backdoor cuts ghost screens it's brilliant and modern off scheme cal's dribble drive was just outdated if u don't change your B left behind now Mark pope has 2 he must hire a great def coach to help with it I believe Mark can get the kinda players he wants the players who's going too be at KY 3-5 ys players with experience and Mark will add a some 5 🌟 All-Americans I believe Mark will appeal too lots of players with his NBA experience he knows what it takes too get there he knows how 2 develop players who's dreams is NBA and others NIL it about money and here's 1 common denominator players still want too win

Guy's good work on keeping us fan's updated on sports UK & entertained first I'm a KY guy born & raised also from a family of generations being a UK fan now I thankful for all cal has done but I never loved the hiring of him because he put players & NBA and his legacy above everything else think about all the players cal put in the NBA all that talent = 1 championship

If Pope has even close to the same talent, he will crush Cal.

Living in the past is never a good idea for anyone regardless of the situation, and there's not a coach you can name that did not have the same types of years until they made it to a big school. There is no argument Pope is a better x and o coach, NO POSSIBLE argument. At least according to NBA analyst who specialize in offense and defensive sets. Go watch the videos absolutely demolishing Cows lack of in-game adjustments and repetitive moron level decisions. I remember my first day wakeboarding, on lake Cumberland everybody said nobody gets up on their first try and I did, because I had a lot of experience with balance sports prior. I proceeded to shred wild drunk for a longer period of time than the other experienced wakeboarders. Coach Pope has some experience that's related to his task already, and he's accomplished better metrics last year than Calipari using a bunch of Mormons on the most recruiting restricted campus in the NCAA. He won 23 games last year with Mormons his first year in the toughest conference in the nation, kind of naive to think he can't win 30 games at Kentucky, or that being at a bigger school is not going to improve him. Hmm, Did Cow have a title before he came to Kentucky??? I will 1,000% go with the up and hungry newcomer that bleeds blue and has coach Pitino firmly behind him, his coach his mentor and always there for him still. I think a better question is how can you possibly argue to keep Calipari what is fraudulent credentials and title when he's had one NCAA win in 5 years as a false hall of famer. The title only came because he had a senior he didn't recruit the looming NBA lockout and a generational talent in Davis to overcome his PATHETIC coaching. Kind of odd you're asking me to argue this, when you can look up several videos right now of professional analysts giving Coach Pope the preseason nod over Cow. Please argue that Calipari is a better x and o coach over Pope and Pope won't be upgraded by UK and recruiting will be a lot better considering he can now recruit more than Mormons, I'm waiting.

The point of Calipari leaving is for UK to transition from a NBA farm team to a college team. As a native of Kentucky it's as if a black cloud has been lifted and hope has returned to our program. Mr Pope will do an excellent job at UK, we really couldn't care any less about the games with Arkansas, unless it's in the tournament.

I agree, I think he has a better 1st..2nd..3rd..4th and so on, Calipari is getting to the age where he don't have it anymore, it's a shame to see a coach take an all star team and win 23 games losing to unc Willington on you're home floor and another winless SEC tourney and Ncaa tourney. Took him 5 years to win 1 Ncaa tourney game and one SEC tourney game.
