BNSF 281, 261 & 1833 make their way down the Hinckley sub one last time before getting relocated to Sioux City, IA. 281 was one of my favorite engines, I can't even believe it's gone. It was here for so long...

Just to clarify, 281 isn't being scrapped, it just got assigned somewhere else. Like the video to pay your respects

I don’t think that unit will get scrapped for another 5 or 10 years. What’s the point of rebuilding them if your going to scrap them.

Try to imagine how we in Chicago felt in 1992 when they retired to BN E units. The last few months of service saw all kinds of railfans coming out of the woodwork camped out on the "race track".
Well that horn on 281 sure sounded nice

@@BNSF1458and the engines were two foward and one backward engine and there were autoracks on the wring railroad and there was faloen flags like *Chespkae and ohio*, i dont think C&O had autoracks.

Farewell BNSF #281. Not to be confused with Amtrak #281. When the SD75s reach the end of their service life, they should be preserved.
Man sad an SD75M left your line :( but I literally saw it yesterday trailing on a manifest headed North so maybe it will come back?

Hopefully somehow they use these 75s as foreign power on the NS. We had 2 of them on 25A a while ago.

@@BNSF1458 BNSF has lended out their local power on 10R before, but that was because that's all that was available. If somehow they sent one of the GP60M-3s to NS I'd love that, since they're PTC equipped.

BNSF uses an SD75M paired with an SD60M "tri clops" as hump yard switchers at Memphis, Tennessee. They even show up on road freights here every once in a while!

SD75Ms don't have any three window variants, they must both be 60Ms. Sounds awesome though!
