I love Hollow Knight so much, But the logo is 80% Perpetua font and not incredible

One thing about Breath of Wild's logo is the Japanese version uses the same Text as Zelda 1's Japan logo

Yoooo this guy littleraly just talked shit about the MasterCard logo......

The double perspective in the Odyssey logo was the thing what blew me away too when they announced the game, that’s smart graphic design right there to pull that actually off while still looking good

The hat combined with the 2 perspectives make it look like it's turning and the color and movement make it perfecto.

That Grip logo blew my mind.

Resident Evil 7 logo is king. The way they pulled off the reversibility between title and subtitle while still maintaining the incorporated number blows my mind every time. It's like they waited 6 games in anticipation to finally do this.

@@wariolandgoldpiramid To be fair some of his complaints is pretty fair. I love Odyssey, but I'll admit the game is pretty damn easy & the game does take a major backseat in terms of platforming challenges in favor of pure exploration. However at the same time some of his complaints does seem very biased, like how he complained about Odyssey having too much nostalgia pandering, yet he gave 3D World a free pass despite the game having much more nostalgia pandering than Odyssey does.

I think Jet Set Radio has my favourite logo ever. It's super stylish and looks like an actual graffiti tag. I especially love the little wheel attached to the R.

Not gonna lie, i came here for some quick tips, stayed the entire length, and am now leaving subscribed and thoroughly entertained.

Tbh the best video game logo I have ever seen would be Sea of Thieves. How the skull is actually a cave and the teeth are 4 pirates and how the eyes are big rocks and a pirate ship, it’s just so creative and genius.

My favourite video game logo is probably from the original Halo trilogy. The text perfectly represents the alien, mysterious and ancient, look that the games convey. So much little detail in the text with little scratches and stuff. And plus the logo varients that are just the O with the 2 or 3 inside. Which were in the trailers and on the limited edition covers. Perfectly conveys the game still too. The Halo O (which represents a Halo ring) and then the number.

I want to bring up how awesome *resident evil 2 remakes* is. At first it looks like a huge crack in glass. But if you look closer, you'll notice that it's a street map of raccoon city!!!

FedEx has a spoon in the “e” in Fed. Making it a sort of visual pun. It also balances the arrow in the “Ex” and essentially states the name of the company with pictures inside the words. A spoon for fed, an arrow for ex.

I happen to really like the Plants vs Zombies Logo. They have this "line" of grass and dirt, which symbolizes being the ground, AND works as a line for the word "vs." The ground line is important as It separates the words "Plants" and "Zombies." Another cool detail is that the word "Plants" is above the ground line, while "Zombies" is under ground. This might be stating the obvious, but plants grow above ground, while zombies are buried dead people. Pretty dang good logo if I do say so myself!

Company : I need a Logo for my company Me : Ok , umm.... Two circles and a gothic font should do the trick. (30 seconds later ) Company : you are done already ? Me : yeah, that will be $500,000 😎

Mother 3's logo shows the contrast behind the Mechanical world of Porky's influence mixed with the natural world of Tazmily's old look. The logo looks very unsettling due to that contrast.

The most impressive Mario logo is both Galaxy 1 and 2. Their logos have a fucking hidden conversation in its letters, across both titles.

The pokemon logo ? It's fun it's colorful and it's adventures which really represents pokemon as a whole

If I may... I think people are too quick to ridicule a logo like the new Master Card. Is it just 2 circles? Absolutely. But any company would LOVE to be able to be associated with a shape as simplistic as that. Red and yellow circle overlapping? People automatically think mastercard. Any curvy, tapered swoosh? Nike. Apple with a bite? Apple. Even a PHOTO of an apple with a bite will make people think Apple. Master card’s brand identity has basically achieved the same ubiquity as the human urge to see a face in a US electrical outlet. They’ve essentially laid claim to the Venn Diagram itself, and the world is on board. If you can manage to have your brand identified by a fundamental primitive of geometry, you’ve achieved something that few companies have, many of which are thanks to a single designer, Paul Rand.

I fully understand and support that thought process (also a huge fan of Rand's work here), my only real complaint is that it comes off as lazy. Are they a company that NEEDS to do more with their logo? Not necessarily. Apple has a playful factor by having a bite taken out. Nike has an abstract symbol that represents motion and speed. MasterCard's just take one of the most basic shapes and....duplicates it. Art is subjective and that's fine. I like simplicity just as much as the next cat but they could've at least done more with the text. But that's just my opinion. Love your work dude!

@indiejacob honestly, I don't think it matters whether a logo *appears* lazy or not. Ubiquity is all that matters. There's no reason to do more for the sake of doing more. That's not what design is about. Logo design should be about saying as much as you can with as little as possible. Master Card has actually opted to drop the wordmark altogether, and are now displaying just the circles in a lot of places, and yet everyone still knows exactly what the logo represents. That's how ubiquitous it is. As for its meaning, it's debatable. It was designed a loooooong time ago, but according to some, the logo represents the overlap of commerce between the eastern and western markets, as at the time of the logo's creation, the company had just acquired its first Japanese partners, unifying a global market. In essence, it represents duality, and mastercard positions itself as the one in the middle joining things together. It's the simplest possible representation of saying "this includes everything. We are the common ground." I envy the fact that Master Card can get away with a move like that. It's design by subtraction: the design is complete when you can no longer take anything away, and everything left is absolutely essential. Master Card has distilled its logo to the absolute barest of essentials and is still immediately recognizable. They have achieved the platonic ideal of what their logo is. But to each their own. =P thanks for the compliment, btw! Didn’t expect to be recognized.
