Awesome memory......I just began reading it to my son who is entering middle school. When he gets out the car in the morning a bit nervous I remind him, "good timber" and he knows I'm calling him to be strong and rise up.

I'm pretty sure I had this poem saved from RedFrostMorivation Channel and now the algorhythm is censuring it! Thank you for uploading it and sharing I again! 💝

I am getting out of a personal struggle that I've been living in the last two months and today is the first day to feel that sense of relief from it. I remembered of have listened this poem once therefore I came back to listen to it. I couldn't hold my tears being aware of all the fights we face in life. Thanks again.

Wait why does it say it’s 10 mins long and then be under 2 mins? I could of swore I listened to this before and there were other good narrations along with the common law of life one.

The tree that never had to fight For sun and sky and air and light, But stood out in the open plain And always got its share of rain, Never became a forest king But lived and died a scrubby thing. The man who never had to toil To gain and farm his patch of soil, Who never had to win his share Of sun and sky and light and air, Never became a manly man But lived and died as he began. Good timber does not grow with ease, The stronger wind, the stronger trees, The further sky, the greater length, The more the storm, the more the strength. By sun and cold, by rain and snow, In trees and men good timbers grow. Where thickest lies the forest growth We find the patriarchs of both. And they hold counsel with the stars Whose broken branches show the scars Of many winds and much of strife. This is the common law of life.
