Your demo sounds a little Pink Floyd/Jimi-ish. Love it. As you've seen from my previous comments, my journey on the guitar matches what you are teaching in your YT lessons. So, so good. And it all makes sense now. I just need to get my chops up and work on loops and backing tracks to burn it into my mind and fingers. You are a goldmine, Rusty. How you keep coming up with great/insightful lessons every day or two is beyond me. Just know you are appreciated so very much. Cheers bud!

Rusty, I just love the format and the way you go about things. I had a guitar mentor/best friend who passed away about 10 years ago. He grew up in Beaumont Texas with the Winter brothers and you remind me so much of him. He taught me many things, but one thing really stuck out. He said, I've never seen a really good rhythm player who wasn't a good lead player unless they just didn't care to play lead, but I've seen many really good lead players who couldn't play rhythm to save their lives. He finished by saying, become a really good rhythm player and the rest will take care of itself. You're more proof. Thanks for your offerings!

Real players feel their own voice they may cover someone else's song but put a insight of themselves to make the cover a interpretation of their own using the roots and going within to give delivery from themselves......and you deliver that point and devotion each video drop..... good job ! good tone !! thats a nice blues intro with just the chords... Little Wing I hear... you have to build up a solo not rushing into it... keeping track with the rhythm is a must to keep the flow going... this song is especially very nice to dress up the chords with hammer ons pull offs and slides.. .. so lead and rhythm are isync ... yes adding the emotion it to make it come alive.. great job here in this tutorial ... I think Im going to cover this song ....

I like this approach Rusty. Instead of spending the next 50 years trying to work out Jimi's magic.note for note. Take the essence and work with that. I think a lot of transferable ideas are gained that way, and you can sound like you with a bit of Jimi in the mix. Can't be bad.

You da man Rusty! Top Notch man! I wish these lessons were around years ago. But your nailing it in an organized fashion. Hey, yeah Im interested in the video setup as well. Want to see if mine is close. Im using my imac to record video using quicktime. I use the Bose S1 Pro+, (Used as interface) plug guitar and mic into it, stream mixed sound directly to the imac. Sound source is the Bose S1 Pro+, so no room sounds, like reverb, ac, etc. Great quality sound, and video in one take. Am I close?

Good to hear from you Monty! My set up is a little simpler. I plugged my guitar and microphone into my interface( Scarlet i2). And I have my interface going directly into my iPhone with a camera adapter. It actually works very well. The only downside is I have to make sure the levels are good as I’m recording. Have a great weekend my friend.✌️
