Well this is a realy good think and I like it but this song is in a musical of death note, and for the people how see death note (like me) know then the shinigami can take the year of a humans when they kill them with the death note, so yea I think is intentional but this think fit realy good for that contest .^. I like that the line assignment is inverted on "Isn't it a laugh?" "Isn't it a shame?" for Crowley and Aziraphale. For the entire rest of the song, Ryuk's lines suit Crowley and Rem's lines suit Aziraphale, but here, of course it's Aziraphale who nervously tries to laugh off horror from on high, and of course it's Crowley who draws a line. I wish the closed captions reflected this accurately, because it's such a good, in-character decision to break with strict casting here!

​@@argetlam2121 I think it's because in most of those films, angels are the antagonists and it's supposed to show that being an angel doesn't necessarily mean you're a good person. And Gabriel is just the best-known one, I think, he's the messenger and I haven't read the Bible yet and don't really know much about Christian lore but I think he's used the most in it? So in the end it's just taking the best-known one and putting him in the first line of the bad guys. Which doesn't mean I don't like it this way, I love the way angels are reflected in this media.

Well I mean, most of what the book and tv show was about showing that being an emissary of heaven and hell isn’t about being or doing good/evil, it’s about doing what you’re told. They figure out at the end of the book that the kid chose to do the right thing because heaven and hell had no input on the matter. So really, Crowley isn’t being an angel, nor does he deserve a halo, he’s just being human.

I love how in the series Crowley doesn’t want to be a demon nor an angel, he just wants to be with Aziraphale no matter what, he always makes references like “all I ever did was ask questions, that’s all it took to become a demon in the old days” and “I just hung out with the wrong people” to try mask the fact that he doesn’t actually want to be bad, he wants to stay on earth with Aziraphale and that’s all that matters to him now.

Love the questioning theme with those two. My point is : Crowley : "Never getting answers" Aziraphale : "Yet still asking why" Show Crowley : "I only ever asked questions..." Show Aziraphale : "It is best not to question the Great Plan. It's Ineffable." Works beautifully.

I just realized the artistic touch of the difference in shape of their wing structures. Aziraphale has a more rounded and soft feather with a thicker overall wing, while crowley uses the triangle and sharp angle to show what he is.

OK but the baby's face at 00:35 brings me pure, unfiltered joy

I just realised that while Crowley obviously ate the apple of knowledge at the beginning, Aziraphale almost does but is prevented from doing so by a thunderstorm that God presumably controls. There probably isn't any knowledge there which angels and demons don't already know, but you do have to wonder... The experience of 'playing a card game in a dark room with a dealer who won't tell you all the rules and who smiles all the time' may apply to angels too

The best thing about this animatic is how *perfectly* it captures Crowley's emotions. This is beautiful.

But Noah has been told by God (or who he believed to be God) that tge Eartg had to be cleansed so most likely he would've regretted not letting them in (in the animatic. That wonderful scene didn't happen in the show or book. I think) But Noah has been told by God and God is his priority. Then again, that's my interpretation.

I love how Aziraphale is saying like, they don't know any better "they're only human". While Crowley is saying it like "they're only [pathetic] human[s]" Also that end scene where the light makes Crowley's wings lighter on top while casting a shadow on Aziraphale's wings to make them look darker on bottom *chefs kiss*

Also, thank you for keeping Aziraphale slightly plump. A lot of animatics default to straight general humanoid shapes. I love how you captured their respective personalities in shape and gesture.

The “-Death Note Musical” credits smacked me in the face and stole my lunch money

I just started watching Good Omens after hearing a lot about it and I honestly always thought that people very much exaggerated the romantic tension between these two, but honestly? I'm in episode 3 and I could easily believe that there's more than friendship there. And this animatic doesn't even feel like a fan work, it feels like they could actually act like this with each other and the art is just gorgeous

I really appreciate how Crowley is portrayed as the more emotionally aware one in this. It fits him. I love Crowley saving the boy at the arc and carrying him away from the certain death of drowning. I love him crying as he falls. I love him getting so upset over the way heaven and hell treats the humans until he cries. I love Azi comforting him in the rain. I love them flying together and Azi finally letting himself cry as he realizes that it really is as bad as Crowley says. Also, edit: I really like the idea that when he gets really upset and it’s just him and Azi he releases his wings naturally In general I just really love this animation and also your art is gorgeous!

I do not think he was saving him but rather that he was preventing him from being saved so that the "divine plan" would be fulfilled and he does this action because he is the deamon the "bad guy".

I like to thing that this, was indeed God's innefable plan.

This is awesome! It gives new meaning to the line "all the years they could give you and me" in the musical it's literal years added to their life span but in this it's more years they can spend together

I think what draws me back in so many times is how the male voice in the song sounds so much like Crowley's actor that it's uncanny, it fits to a T. Plus the bit where he saves the child and falls anyway breaks my heart but you come back for it anyway. My heart soars, I wish I could dance to this. I just imagine them dancing in my head 1:00

The transition between him being a snake to human is SO GOOD like holy shit!

yea! I've been thinking about this these days, in a scene in episode 2, when they're after the demonic nuns, if I'm not mistaken when crowley and aziraphale are "talking" (fighting) in the hallway and crowley provokes aziraphale, it looks like his head starts to make some moves from side to side like a snake (obviously, he is a snake) And also in that same scene when he pushes aziraphale against the wall, I have the impression that the more angry crowley is, when he goes to talk to someone, he seems to bar his teeth and speak in a more slurred way. Or am I just freaking out lmao

coming back to this as my favorite good omens video to cope with season two. still as beautiful and moving as I remember.

I come back to this animatic every couple of months, and now that the 2 season is out, it's even more meaningful and amazing considering everything that we saw. This is possibly my favorite animatic ever, from every fandom I've been in. Simply beautiful.

Oh my goodness!!!!!!!! I was worried about the ending because Ryuk’s disregard of humans is so very, very different from Crowley and also there was the obvious Death Note lines like ‘the years they could give you and me’ and then I watched it and just!!!!!!!!!! Oh it’s so good, just _amazing_ the emotion it captures, the way you change the meaning of the song so it becomes something so different from the original, the pain the angst, Aziraphale comforting Crowley and lifting his chin, Crowley falling, them both crying, the way the lyrics match perfectly while the meaning is so very, very different, the ending with even the ‘let’s call’ being given a good omen’s slant reminding me the importance the Ineffable Plan vs the Devine Plan played in the end and them seeking answers, how they both called out for answers at one point during cannon. The way the Them is included while they watch over with Aziraphale crying, the clouds earlier the twist the dancing scene took, I was expecting it to be replaced by another scene rather then continuing into that transition and Crowley falling to the lyrics and the wine overfilling, tears overflowing again and again and their angst and arguments and just there is so much, so much!! Well worth the wait, thank you!!!!

God I love this comment so much! When I was thumbnailing, I also had the problem with the male lines being a bit too... like... hateful to humans, so a lot of my planning was trying to figure out how the fuck to make it more inflective of Crowley's demonic sarcasm/desperate love for humanity despite its faults. And yes, thank you so SO much, I'm so glad people are picking out the smaller details and the parallels and the symbolism! It's so exciting when I see comments and it's people noticing something they hadn't before, or something others might have over looked! :D

In fact I have never seen Good Omens either, all I understood from my friends posting things of the show is their names and that everyone ships them. Ah, yes, angel and demon paired up together. And that's all I needed to understand this 😂😂 Plus the animatic gives a lot of info too! And it would be just magnificent and stunning on it's own anyway!! A work of art, truly a masterpiece.

There's a headcannon going around that Crowley fell because he was asking questions, at this point I'm starting to believe it

I have literal tears in my eyes this is the most beautiful animatic I have ever watched and was so damn worth the wait. You did so well on the spiral flight and the transitions are so smooth and creative. The expressions have so much emotion in them and the coloring of the details (wine, eyes, etc.) stands out so well in the greyscale and gives it way more life than if it were all colored. I could watch this on loop and still not have enough of your art,,, thank u for doing what u do,,,,,

also your little details added in the characters is *thumbs up* (Crowley's blood tears, Aziraphale's messier than usual curls in the cloud sequence, the shine in his tears, etc).

This is absolutely amazing. Its the perfect song, aziraphale being an angel who clearly sees the faults of the world and crowleys opinions and knows they are valid. The song is so perfect showing aziraphale clearly struggling to reason with everything unfair going on. The transitions are amazing. The style is so precious im like non stop repeat viewing this i needed this so much i love it and i love the way you draw the ineffable husbands ;^, 😍😍 its amazing. I adore your aziraphale so much and its just all... i cant praise this enough

Things about this that hurt even more after watching Season 2 (without explaining why because that would be spoilers) - Every time they dance - Them in the rain, under the umbrella, but *especially* Aziraphale shielding Crowley from the rain with his wing - Crowley going out of his way to save a child from God's wrath - "Looking down from above, I'm intrigued by their love" - 1:11 Aziraphale looking like THIS just when they say "love" - 0:25 Aziraphale almost biting into the apple aka "giving in to Crowley's temptation" - Them dining together - Crowley's anguish and sadness disguised as angry outbursts everything, basically

the difference between the book and the series is The book: "Oh, they're gay!" The series: "OH, THEY'RE *GAY*"

You know what I just realized? Someone needs to show this to Neil Gaiman and Michael Sheen!

Still absolutely in love with the snake to human transition, it's absolutely gorgeous!🐍 And Aziraphale kinda knowing that some of the things happening are wrong but never really doing anything about it, his expressions were spot on. And Crowley always has so much heart. Wonderful!!🖤💙

I really loved the scene comparing Crowley's umbrella shielding Aziraphale from the rain to Aziraphale's wing shielding Crowley from the rain back in the Garden. Really, really well done!!!

I need that after season 2
