I happen to know a lot about pancreatic cancer. And I’m devastated knowing what Paul’s going through. I really like him and looked forward to every video he made for us. I’m hoping he got an early diagnosis because that’s the only way you can possibly survive that horrible disease. I am one of the few that has survived. Since it had not metastasized I was eligible for what’s called a Whipple procedure. They take half of your insides out and throw them away and then reroute everything. And if you survive that incredibly invasive and complicated surgery, you’ll never be the same after that. Approximately 5% of those diagnosed with pancreatic cancer survive and reoccurrences are a fear that does not go away. I don’t think Paul would say goodbye if they hadn’t told him he’s terminal. I wish Paul the very best. I hope nobody that happens to read this ever has to go through what I’ve been through and what Paul’s going through. Be kind, considerate, and understanding because life’s short even if you happen to live a long life.😘

I have been caught off guard by how much this has gotten to me today. I first found Paul in the early days when I had been laid off from my really good job and I was down in the dumps. The first thing that struck me was his eyes when he was shooting. I heard somewhere that when someone is really playing for keeps, their whole face changes, and watching Paul's eyes go from normal to combat mode as soon as he started shooting convinced me right away that he was the real deal. Then of course his great sense of humor and absolute wealth of knowledge. Those videos helped me get through that hard time, and I'm not at all ashamed to admit that due to this parasocial relationship I feel like I'm losing a good friend. I think his brother will do good things, and I'll definitely give it a fair shake, but obviously it is going to be it's own thing.

Law enforcement experience to the side, I’ll continue to support the channel and will give Roy Harrell a chance. Best of luck to Roy and the crew and more importantly best of luck to Paul getting better. Maybe in the future we will get that crossover.

Frankly not wanting to watch someone with law enforcement experience is...questionable at best. Like it or not, someone with that background can probabally teach you a lot that cannot come from anywhere else. I welcome what Roy has to teach us.

Paul Harrell's channel has been of profound value to me in regard to my own firearm education. He also discussed tactics, training and critical thinking as well. I would like to personally thank him now for the knowledge, laughter and his personal opinions he has provided to the community over the years. His channel is a digital gold mine of firearms knowledge. Thank you, Paul.

Paul Harrell will be greatly missed. As a firearms authority, YT entertainer, and as a shining example of just what an American man should strive to become. They've never made many like Paul and with what we see from today's youth there may be none left at all before too long. I can only hope there is something pleasant and enjoyable waiting for him (and us) when time runs out here.

I hate that we're losing a Good Man. That's all I can say, I don't know personally and never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Harrell, but from the very first of his videos I watched years and years ago, to the current channel update introducing his Brother Roy. He's been nothing but a smart, witty, educational and Damned Fine American. Mr. Paul should have another healthy 30 years with on this Earth, teaching the firearms community new school, the very Best of the Old School, all while hitting us with them Shatner-esq pause's.This one hurts, all this internet stranger can do is Pray for Paul, and hope that whatever happens, the remaining good times last and the end of his battle is Quick and Painless. Ride on Paul Harrell, you will be fondly missed and cherished by many.

Both my wives parents got this with 2 years between them. I saw her dad succumb to it. From what I have learned he has maybe a month or two, and probably less. It's amazing that he lasted this long. Paul is such a tough guy imagine how bad it must be right now for him to step away. It is sad to say there will be no miracle. This particular cancer is a total beast. They almost never find it before you have experienced symptoms and if you experience symptoms it is way too late. If they get lucky and catch it early, which is pretty rare you will live longer but still die young.

I always enjoyed his Thanksgiving kettle cooking as well. Some might think that sort of content is boring and tedious. I always found it a reprieve from the noise and commotion that's gotten everyone in a mad pace. Somehow I've imagined me being on a military squad in the wilderness chowing down on a big plate of chili, cornbread, and cake cooked by Paul Harrell over a big fire. It's that relatable. I hope for his recovery and continued presence, but it is likely that won't be possible for very long. 😪 Will not forget his 'isms, sayings, slogans, and more.
