No, we can thank the out-of-touch EPA and other federal officials. They keep pushing automakers to increase fuel economy & reduce emissions. It is never enough. Stopping production of the RAM 1500 with the Hemi V-8 means that people that still want V-8 power will either switch brands or purchase the 2500, for as long as RAM offers the V-8 there. If I wanted a inline 6, it would be a Cummins or an old Dodge with a slant 6.

Sad times for sure. I love the Ram for it’s legendary Hemi. At least here in Canada the Rams are very popular with thieves as a child can defeat the keyless entry/push button start and take them from your driveway. If Ram doesn’t make them harder to steal, no one will be able to afford the insurance. At least in the US the thieves need to be worried about the owner coming out with his Smith & Wesson. Here in Canada the “right to bear arms” means a tank top with a beer in each hand. 😅

The sound of the Hemi V8 with a Borla Exhaust will always keep me wanting a V8 over anything else. I understand the reason for going cold turkey on the new power plant. I hope and think its a strategy to get people to buy the Hurricane I6 engines. If Ram kept the Hemi as an option, you can be sure that no one would have gone for the Hurricanes. This way they've forced people to adopt the I6 and possibly when the fad dies down and the I6 has been proven, they will come back with a new Hemi.

Turbocharged motors typically don’t last as long as naturally aspirated motors due to being more dependent on routine maintenance. A turbocharger is really hard on oil. I am still in love with my 19’ RAM Laramie. I got it with every option, minus the pano roof for $43,500. I hope to keep it for 20 years. Lifted on 35’s, and Borla catback exhaust. Best truck on the road. Though I prefer an inline 6 to a V6, they should have kept the HEMI option. Total bummer

I bought my Ram 1500 V6 Bighorn five years ago - March 2019. Out the door price $41,000. It has several options including the brake controller, all the sensors, etc. For my purposes the truck has been wonderful. The V6 has plenty of power. However, now that I am retired I doubt I will be able to afford another Ram in the future. Current prices are getting out of reach for most consumers..

There's a certain dealer in Idaho sitting on a few 2023 Rebel's with the Hemi just waiting for someone to come buy them. All of them and including the 2024s they were all around $72,000 MSRP, so not as decked out as the one you were driving. But looking at the Window Sticker they have everything I would want in a new truck. This particular dealer is always much less than the MSRP. I would not be surprised if the selling price was closer to $65,000. If that's not low enough I did find a used 2023 Rebel with 163 miles on the odometer for sale at $52,991. So, if a rebel with a hemi is what you're looking for I think finding one at bargain basement prices should be easy.
