When you think about it, Killua is incredibly talented but mainly why he is so strong is the conditioning and training he received growing up. Gon grew up on a sheltered island and is almost as strong as Killua off the bat like its pretty crazy how much potential he has

Anime genes don't water down. Look at Gohan for instance. Yusuke from YYH is like a hundred generations away from his demon ancestor and in like a year of training and fighting he's knocking on top teír.

Gon was nowhere near killua during the exam. Gon only caught up to killua as soon as they started to learn nen. Not saying Gon never had potential but off the bat Gon was weaker than killua.

I feel like the Greed Island's cards can be useful in the Dark Continent especially the transport cards like "Return", "Accompany", and "Magnetic Force"

I had personally assumed the cards were made with Ging's power since he is the only person other than Chrollo out there using multiple powers like its nothing, but he can use other people's abilities better than them too, so he would be the master of traversing it with all that knowledge

The really interesting thing about adult Gon is that he unlocked all the strength he'd ever have, but that does not mean every skill/power. I'm sure by the time he'd be able to get close to that power he would've developed new skills that way surpassed the jajanken. Gon has basically just started using nen after all. Imagine the monster he could've become. I agree, he would've been able to take on atleast part of the dark continent.

I would say his limiter was removed in that essence more than he was given all the strength he would have gained over time. Think about how long it normally takes him to charge a full jajanken. It took 19 seconds to get a max power against neferpitou, he was still charging against Morel and had yet to even reach its maximum potential. Its safe to assume that he wasn't given an 'adult' body persay but was just given access to all of his Nen going off of this theory. Effectively meaning he had enhanced his body to its peak physical form, akin to what Bisky does, which is something that I think a lot of people forget. Would also explain why he no longer has access to Nen, it would be like he opened the 8 inner gates from Naruto, he literally burned all the aura nodes out which effectively killed him as a Hunter instead of actually ending his life as the 8 inner gates does. If he were to get access to Nen again it would be due to his Aura nodes themselves healing over time, which given this theory should be possible in some effect. Only time will tell if this actually does happen though.

I always saw it as Gon burning the potential that he had up to that point in the series. As in that's not to say he couldn't get even stronger in the future, but that at that point his Nen and the vow he gave allowed him that much strength. In other words if he was 10 years older and had taken the vow then, his vow would probably make him even stronger than what he's like at 14, maybe potentially even being able to take on Mereum. I know it's stated by Pitou that Gon's power rivalled that of the King but I don't think having a similar level of power would be enough to beat Mereum's insane cognitive ability. If Gon were overwhelmingly stronger though then things are different.

I always liked the idea that Ging knocked up the receptionist at the entrance of Greed Island. Also, Ging didn't create the Greed Island cards himself. He needed friends with abilities, abilities which he could transmute into each card. The healer card at the end of the arc is so much more important now, because it is evidence that Ging has encountered someone who has conquered Life. In the next Arc Pituou couldn't even compare with that healing ability.

This also could explain where Gon gets his caring and empathetic side. Not just Mito, but I’m sure being raised by a motherly panda built for childcare would create a very emotionally connected child

Its interesting that Ging and Gon look EXACTLY the same. Everybody else has a distinct look and children often dont resemble their parents at all in the series. I really think that Gon is a clone and that would explain Ging's odd relationship and feelings toward Gon.

@@CarolinaEclipse they haven’t been main characters in a very long time, the succession war and race to the dark continent are the focus of hunter x hunter now and I don’t see any way those two get reintroduced into the story So kurapika, the phantom troupe, hisoka, the parties involved in the succession war, ging, pariston, the zodiacs… those are your main characters now

What if Gon is just Don? I mean, we have no idea how the immortality fruit works, maybe he just gets reborn every time he dies with no memories of the past (or his memories are being blocked by something)

My running theory is that gon is a post mortem nen baby/ability probably from his mother and the condition was her death and ging not being able to be with him because of something which would explain his insane potential and mass amounts of nen so much apparently that even him using absolutely everything he had to fight pito he still has some left in him which would also explain why he survived.

I have a few scenarios. 1.) I was thinking Gon was a clone. And maybe a vessel for gin to reincarnate in...but....eh. I doubt it. It's possible for children to have similar if not the same traits as their parents. 2.) Gons mother was already in/on greed island. Gin may have put her there to protect her and Gon from danger. Y'all forget this man was knowledgeable and worked in restoring old ruins with his wife “supposedly”. Before she mysteriously died. Someone could have been against the restoration of a certain ruin or wanted a treasure from those ruins. If I was doing the community good. I have to believe that their would be bad ppl in the hunter x hunter community this didn't sit well with. This leaving my child an open target. This could have pushed Gin to create the Island. And when ppl start using the cards and finding ways to get in un registered or killed other players to enter - they could have killed her or maybe his mom passed during childbirth. And they made up a story of why they split. 3.) Dark Continent - His moms bloodline is from here. this to me explains Gons ability to adapt so well in nature and his super natural strength,healing abilities. In order to survive there, wouldn’t you have to develop or have some type of unlimited power source.? To me, it may seem like his mom was from some special tribe that may have not been human or over time begin to possess these unnatural abilities. Making zen love them. Bc the environment on dark island is different. you would have to be super agile and alert. And be able to hide without being detected as Gon has shown this ability many of times without zen. Not sure if his mom was human or maybe partially human. ( Evolution) But what I do know is that Gon has a mother and Gin wanted to tell his son only if he felt the need to hear it. I think Gon has his moms good heart and forgiving nature.He only looses it when you seemingly hurt ppl he loves. Or can’t defend themselves. Not sure where the writer will take the manga. But I am looking forward to seeing it through. And hope that they bring Killua and his sister back as well. Praying for the writer Yoshiro Togashi a 100% recovery But I will say his mom was one of the good guys seeing how Gon personality is towards ppl. He protects others. What If Gons mom was the Zen child created through experiments that Hunter x hunter created and Gin ended up saving her and hiding her in the island ( game) he created. Maybe the Freeces's family was even from the Dark Continent millennia before Don was born, which might explain why they all seem to have an inmate need to explore and discover and why "blood will tell" (said by both Freeces grandma and Kite). My hypothesis started from the fact that the Freeces are from Whale Island, which is how the series started, and now the main cast is on the Black Whale, which arguably marks the start of the next Hunter Hunter story.
