Santol fruit is in season in the Philippines from July to October so I decided to make this very flavorful dish. Some people call this recipe Gulay na Santol.
The ingredients are Santol / Cotton Fruit, 2 cups of coconut milk, 2 tablespoons of bagoong, onions, garlic, red chili, long pepper and black pepper.

That dish, was originated in bicol, definitely one of my favorites🍽😍 when im cooking that, im using the cheese grater for the santol, and then i put lots of siling green & crushed chicharon.. Perfect👌 my kids love that also.

Never have I ever expected that I'll see Goma doing this while searching for a sinantolan recipe. Ang chill po ninyo magluluto, nakakatuwa 🤗
My Bicolana lola used to cook that when I was young and wasn't a big fan of veggies back then. At first I thought it was corned beef 😂 I loved it and that made me start to eat veggies. My lola made Santolada (santol juice) with some santol meat and seeds. ❤️ YUM!

Ang galing galing ni idol cheff goma nmin. Nkaka Ali's ng pagod Super narerelax AQ sa pagluluto nia. At very organize sya mgluto.ang galing tlga nia nkakaalis ng pagoda naiinspire AQ at naeenjoy pkoi sa panonood idol. Npka galing nio po mgdala at very presentable.at nkaka inspire po kyo mgluto. At prang andaling sundan ng pgluluto nio not like the other super easy LNG mg prepare and yet amazing. 100% matututo ksa pagpapaliwanag nia very clear sya mgpliwanag kumpleto. The first time I've tasted Ginataang Santol was way back 1995. Nagbakasyon ako sa Nabua, Camarines Sur, sa bahay ng napangasawa ng Tito ko (bale, Tita in-law ko). And nung natapos na ang summer vacation, ikinuwento ko sa friends ko 'yang dish na iyan. 😍😍 Also, another anecdote about santol is ginagamit iyan ng Tito ko na pang-asim sa Sinigang na Bangus. Masarap din! 😍

Iba style namin mga bicolanos pag luto ng santol, kinukudkod namin meat para pino, and ini stock nmin yn na may asin para pag di na season ng santol may maluluto kami, hinahayaan namin maluto sa gata ng niyog para mag langis langis. Anyways mukha masarap Mayor, lagi aq nanonood pag nagluluto ka.. Madami aq natututunan..

You are so blessed to have a land big enough to grow fruit trees and vegetables that you can use for your everyday cooking. Everything is fresh and within reach. It should inspire our kapwa Pinoys to use whatever land they have in their backyard hindi kelangang malaki basta pwedeng taniman ng mga pangkaraniwang gulay na magagamit sa araw araw na lutuin gaya ng camatis, talong, patola, sili, pechay at iba pa. Salamat sa sinantolan recipe. Reminded me of my lola ‘Inay’ who used to make santol juice for us when we were kids and we loved it. More power to your show.
