I think one big thing that makes her narcissism and arrogance not obnoxious, is that she seems to be actually competent and useful. She is definitely not as flawless as she sees herself but at least her ego isn’t just all talks.

As someone who knows about Soren's past. There is no way Goldmary had a chance to try to sway him. He's been through plenty of stuff in his life, and the only one he trusts is Ike. He's never had that much time to invest in other things male/females do besides how to speak to ladies in a specific manner i.e. Aimee, because he's spent his life trying to survive and people treat him differently because he's branded, someone of beorc(human) and laguz blood that has been reviled since some mysterious rumor and whatnot became something for races to do. He's become a no-nonsense person who wants results and will give some criticism if it helps the company he is with. This is the same guy who turned down the offer of a laguz royal to stand beside him quick. Of course, it is mainly due to prejudice he faced with beorc and laguz people. Long story short, Goldmary face it, you ain't getting through to Soren at all. You don't get to whine about it when he went through much worse, praise to Ike for showing him compassion.

Always makes me laugh that Micaiah and Celica are all polite and diplomatic and then Ike just goes straight for the throat

Goldmary is like if they took that one Hilda line where someone goes “Hilda? Perfect!” and she says “I am, aren’t I?” and just made a whole character out of that. I love her.

I love how Soren's perfectionism overpowered Goldmary's and gave her an existential crisis.

Funny enough, her fellow retainers and friends, Rosado and Hortensia had a similar interaction towards Soren. And why the hell would I ever forget about Hortensia, even though I was expecting a bit different from these two.

God i wish goldmary's and soren's bond supports were longer, they are just so incredibly mismatched in atittude that it makes for some of the best dialogue in this game

@@ElijahLotusShield I’m not a camila fan but I’ll admit it’s pretty fun to see some of the more serious characters interact with these more unique characters. Goldmary, soren, camila, ike, hortensia, timera and so on have some great bond supports just because the others don’t know what to do with them

She is so unapologetic about it too. Every playthrough I did I always make sure to invest on her just so she can nicely ask her enemies to die.

Ikr, Ivy was my legit first choice until the godzone happened, however Goldmary was a strong 2nd, no regrets.

This, Yunaka and the verbal beatdowns by Soren have deadass convinced me to buy the game. I legit had very little interest in the game initially since I heard it was less story focused, but all these fun character interactions changed my mind.

While the translation crew did make some ? choices with some parts of the game localization, other parts where MASSIVE improvements, like changing Anna S support, Goldmary and Louis characterization and so on. Good on them for these moves.

From little things I've seen of the localisation changes, the bond with Camila does reference their voluptuous figure directly, I'm not all that against the change as it maintains a high dose of pride, see the deadly sins. Slightly redirected from being an obvious point to the breast to a more all encompassing. It does also give more of a sound as to being incredibly well practiced or talented.

While Charlotte is cynical and she only marries anyone (mainly males) for money, even if she needs money to help her family. Charlotte is likely more of Panette, while Goldmary is more of Camilla imo.
