This is how to DJ properly. Too many DJs use tricks to hide the fact that they cant transition one tune to the next flawlessly. Anyone can mash echos and mutes etc to jump between tracks. It takes skill and a deep knowledge of the music youre playing to go between tracks this smoothly.

Yep old skool mixing, not like half the wankers turning knobs to little effect most the time, but then cdj mixing is pretty easy. On a vinyl night a couple of years ago Bryan G was throwing records on the floor as they had warped or got jumps in, nearly all of the legends in the game really struggled barring Kenny Ken

Goldie cannot 'mix' to save his live. harsh? If you DJ you can easily see he has never been any good, he'll admit it himself. He is one of the amazing DJ's at selection for sure and his performance is always outstanding. He is capable of putting together an incredible set, i've seen him do it many times, but he can also drop some clang city mixing hence why he often cross fades everything before anything drops ala basically everything in this mix. Tunes dropping in the wrong places, crossfading before things drop to ensure his out of synch beat matching isn;t obvious. Even his EQ in this mix is bad. I love Goldie, I mean I really fucking love the guy, he is a fucking icon of the scene, has run the best label in the scenes history, found many of the best artists and effortlessly supported them, pioneered an incredible sound, made Rufige Kru a name that produces some of most dark and fierce dnb out there with the aid of many of the scenes best producers, and deserves all the respect he gets.... but he cannot mix, dont get it twisted!

@@yamyite Bryan G has always been a mess on the decks. Dont think I've ever seen a set where he isnt dropping some clangers or beat crashing a mix at least once. Bailey, Randall, Andy C, Friction, Hype, Zinc, Spinback, Ed Rush, Mampi Swift, Loxy, Ink, Ruffstuff, Grooverider, Bukem, Doc Scott, Marcus Intalex, Tech Itch, DJ Rap, John B..... just a few 'oldschool' DJs who take risks on the decks and effortlessly produce quality sets where mistakes are very rare.

This lad isn't bad, he might have quite a future ahead of him if he keeps it up! 😜

Hey now, playing a live set on an SP 404 mk 1 or 2 is no small feat, (even though it’s hip hop based check the out the channel Le Mellotron) and yes the SP 404 mk 2 can do drum and bass

A hands off mix. Your selection has to be FIRE! Goldie letting them tunes breathe. No need for fiddling with the EQs when the selection is this locked.

I saw Goldie twice in NZ early 2000s. Simply amazing. The time in Wellington I still rate as a top 3 club base night. Seriously made my chest thud on every beat. The drinks on the table...I remember laughing cause the liquid had like a vibration ripple

As a psytrance DJ, I haven't heard a D&B set in half an eternity and actually only wanted to zap in briefly and then couldn't stop until the end. This is like the World Cup final Germany - Brazil 2014, if you haven't heard anything else, this is for eternity. I really appreciate the psychedelic-jazz atmosphere...simply world class.

You'll be surprised how psychedelic liquid /atmospheric dnb/jungle is. Chopping up tracks and drop mixing gets old. I used to go to desert Psy events all the time and you'll see liquid played a lot at them especially as the sun's coming up. I have a good friend that is a full on psytrance dj and now has a liquid dnb alias😅

Rough, tough and dangerous, the original 1 and only, saw him DJ at gatecrasher summer sound system in 2000, he, the rider, fabio, randall and all the crew back in the 90s are the best and set the standard for drum and bass, awesome to see the scene is huge again and has made something of a renaissance. Hearing so much DnB in normal clubs again now, wicked, jungle massive, big up! :D

I like how he integrated his personality and history into his set without shouting. Classy and tasteful.

Desperately needs tracklist on this! Brilliant set!
