@@Zenodilodon the amount of time i spent on mariokart 7... i without a doubt have at least 2000 hours on my nintendo 3ds. Mariokart 7 (got huge into time trials and online mode), Pokemon XY/ORAS/USUM, monster hunter 4 ultimate, fantasy life, steel diver sub wars, shovel knight, kirby.. the list goes on. The fact that there are still online lobbies for these games too.

The inside of that thing is a work of art. So many mirrors, lenses and precision. And damn! 12 watts should make for a killer stage show at night. I'd love to screw around with lasers more, but I need to get some decent safety goggles, as I'm 100% sure the lasers I have are not labelled correctly. I bought a green DPSS to replace my old one that the locking mechanism FELL OUT of, and the safety label simply says: "under 1000 mw" and there is no infrared filter that I can see. The Amazon listing said "30 watt", which it obviously isn't, not for $25... LOL. And now the same listing says it's 50 watts.... So the seller is likely clueless, as well as artificially increasing the descriptions output power.... If I had a choice, I'd have bought from a reputable company that uses correct labels, and actually measures the output of their products... but I have a cat take care of. It's always fun to see what unique devices you work on. Nice work. Take care.

Lasers are so damn cool, I bought one years ago, and its never been aligned or I knew that it could be aligned, though being that its some imported stuff that a store rebadged it probably has no adjustments inside. Granted mine is nothing as cool as this and its only like a green & uv'ish color of blue that makes things glow like a uv bulb.

H i do you do repairs on galvos ie; i need a mirror replacement and tune, on an old CAMBRIDGE TECHNOLOGY closed loop 6000H galvo ,an old one now but its a sick puppy CHEERS

I can probably mount a suitable mirror from the stock I have here. I don't have CT stock though. I am decently good with manually mounting, no super precise jig though. Your galvo and amps would both need to be sent because the amps will need tuning to suit the harmonics of the new mirror. I can also wire in a compatible or better galvo unit in your laser no problem. I have worked with pretty much every galvo brand at this point!

Nice work, Zen! Nothing is more instructive than watching a pro. 👀 But, you know me, I've always got stupid "why this and why that" questions. 🤷‍♀ #1: Since the dichroics were the most maligned, from the get-go, is there a reason why you didn't start by aligning those to the galvos and target 1st, then do a final tweak on the remaining individual knife edge mirrors? #2: Why don't you use a black (fireproof) target material to better see the beam spots (or is the large glow simply due to the camera aperture?)? Thanks! 😎
