Let's talk about a classic RPG called Golden Sun, an absolute gem with amazing pixel art visuals that originally released on the gameboy advance system and is now about to hit the Nintendo Switch Online service : depending on when you watch this, it may already be available : Golden Sun 1 & 2 : both amazing RPG classics with some of the most beautiful 2D pixel art you've ever seen : are launching on Nintendo Switch for their Online service on January 17th and I'm all here for it : whether you played these back in the day, or missed out on them, let me explain in today's video why you should absolutley check these stunning RPGs out on January 17th 2024
It's no big secret that the first 2 Golden Sun games are phenomenal hits and two of the absolute best RPGs of their time in the early 2000s when they launched on the Gameboy Advance : Made by one of my favorite RPG companies: Camelot Software Planning : The same people behind many of the Shining series from back in the day and other RPG hits. Unfortunately, Camelot was bought out by Nintendo and has been sent to the underbelly of Hell to create Mario sports titles for the rest of their existence, and so their amazing nack for creating RPGs is all but lost to the world of mortal men.
Thankfully though, Golden Sun 1 & 2 is being re-released on the Nintendo Switch, and that means it's time to dive into some of the best role-playing experiences you can have : These two titles go together perfectly telling both sides of an epic struggle : Yes, the first title tells the story from the "good guys" side, and then the second tells it from the antagonist point of view and the struggle over the magic Adepts in the world of Weyard : a destructive force being unleashed and with many heart-tugging moments on both sides of the battle, Golden Sun is going to rock your world and give you a heap of RPG goodness and satisfaction!
What really turned heads on Golden Sun back when it released, and the thing that still makes this series stand out today is the absolutley jaw-dropping graphics : which were stunning at the time : the way the battles would do a 3D effect with 2D sprite work, the art of the characters, the animations and beautiful music. Golden Sun isn't one to pass up, especially for ANYONE who loves classic RPGs from the 16-bit golden age.
Golden Sun was reviewed extremely well upon release paying special attention to the awesome graphics, the sound, and the high-quality RPG gameplay : Golden Sun stands up against the absolute titans of the RPG genre and went on to win awards such as "Best Gameboy Advance Game of All Time" and more.
Now in order to enjoy this re-release, you need to have a Nintendo Switch, and the Online Service and the Expansion Service in order to have access to the Gameboy Advance titles : Even if you just grab up the service long enough to check out these two titles, it's well worth it, especially if you haven't experienced them before.
