Watched it till the bitter end. Another year of Steph’s last few effective seasons wasted. No size, no rebounding, too many turnovers, same things thatve been talked to exhaustion the last few years. Klay will have to take less money or leave after this, what a disaster. Kerr got absolutely owned by Brown, the offense was a disaster, the defense was a disaster; he had no adjustments to make. Moody impacted the game and was immediately taken out, only to be brought back when the game was out of hand🤷🏽‍♂️ make it make sense Stevie boy. Props to the Kings for some amazing defense, they beat the Warriors to the 50-50 balls and were younger and hungrier. And the crazy shooting night from that Pharoah looking fukker Murray.

I'm no GSW nor Kings fan, but it feels like Kerr put his emotions (i.e. his chronic distrust of players who were not there from their first 2015 championship) ahead of his brain. Klay's ability to be an elite 3-and-D player was clearly reduced by that major injury he had a few years back. Yet Kerr keeps playing him as if he's just as capable as he used to be. Obviously can't blame Klay for suffering through that injury, but Kerr was not in his right mind.

This is why Steve Kerr isn’t an elite coach. Can’t set his personal bias aside and put players in that are actually going to have an impact. Yes you have to boost your players confidence to help them play better. But in a win or go home game, you don’t have time for that.

  • @benjitall1536

He benched Kevon Looney for most of the season for no reason. I'm sure his excuse was lack of "offensive productivity" even though that's not his job. He gave a ton of minutes to CP3, which was pointless. Moody should've been a huge part of the rotation. Him and Podziemski so they can get some consistent shooting come playoff time. Relying on Thompson after the previous year's post-season disappointment was another costly mistake.

To be clear, I didn't expect a blow out from either team. I had slightly favored the Warriors, but that was mostly based off last year's Playoffs. Also the greatness of Curry is hard to bet against. But I did think the Kings could win even without Monk. I just thought the game would be a lot closer than it was. Even if the Kings lost, I thought it would be nail biter. They dog walked the Warriors tho

I am not a plastic fan. GS for life! But my love is for the bay and the team. That said, i have been hating on Klay all year, so glad to see others finally join the chorus. Nothing personal, people just get old. His offense always been streaky, like all pure jump shooters before him. But, his defense. :-( non-existent. If he's not on fire, he is such a liabilty, the reason for the teams inconsistency all year - his constant availability and Kerr's desire to play him 30+ minutes a night was killer. Even Kerr eventually realized he had to bench him. But, he has a few good games, then back in Kerr's good graces like the first 65 games didn't happen. I am not sad though, happy and relieved. No more agony this year. No more teasing. In the end, I don't even blame Klay, its on Kerr. Time is undefeated, as they say.

No one blames Klay for being different after injury. In reality, he has given Kerr every reason to make him come off the bench. Not only that, fake fans were praising him for being good 1 time every 4 games. Not only that, Klay has yet to have a single good playoff series since coming back. The fake fans have been feeding into the Game 6 mythos, it was barely true in 2019, but its definitely not true post injury. Even with the ok regular seasons he had, Klay has never once proved he is worth 40 mil. All that said, Kerr is the problem. Its up to Kerr to make the tough decisions. Instead, Kerr plays Ty Jerome, Anthony Lamb and Cory Joseph instead of developing Kuming/Moody. Now that this season it was apparent Klay has declined, Kerr had nothing to replace him with. Kuminga was nice, but he shouldve been much further along. Same for Moody. I dont hate Klay, just observing the reality that he is washed and doesnt deserve 40 mil. The Warriors could have got new pieces if he took a paycut. I like the new GM cause he instantly got rid of that bum Cory Joseph. Klay and Paul are coming off that 40 and 30 mil (or retiring, whichever they prefer), so we should look much better next year.

Disappointing, but actually a fitting end for what has been a topsy turvy year for the Dubs. To those who criticize Kerr for sticking with Thompson, Klay has been lights out in the second half of the season and this was actually a great opportunity to see whether they should keep him or trade him to build their final version of a Curry-anchored Dubs team. I think they should probably use him as bait in a deal to get a good prospect, the warriors are too old for this run and gun style. They need fresh legs or size, or BOTH. Keep Curry and Kuminga. Everyone else is potential trade material.

Kerr is being criticized for keeping Klay in the game when it was blatantly obvious he was underperforming. Kerr can't control if Klay lays an egg, but keeping him in for as long as he did while Kuminga and Moody were far more effective despite playing far fewer minutes is 100% Kerr'a fault. As long as Klay's out there chucking up bricks like there's a Mongol invasion due, there's nothing to take defensive attention away from Curry. I hope Curry and many of the younger GSW players who say barely any floortime this season escape to teams that will at least try to make use of their strengths.

Ive been saying this whole time, Klay has yet to be good in the playoffs since coming back. People living on like 3 games for this 'Game 6 Klay' myth. It was barely true then, but its just wrong now. Teams have been selling out on Steph and Kerr refuses to adjust. Speaking of Kerr, its disgusting how much he has hated Kuminga and (especially) Moody. Ive never seen a role player who plays damn near perfect ball every minute he gets, and his reward is to be buried behind Anthony Lamb, Ty Jerome, and Cory Joseph. Kuminga only started playing cause Kerr got publicly bullied and Kuminga threatened to leave. The weirdest part is that those two were buried for 2 season, yet Podz and Trayce can play instantly. Kerr is obsessed with playing non NBA players over young talent. Hopefully the new GM continues to make great moves, like trading those garbage players, so Kerr cant play them 20 minutes a game. Klay, take 10-15 a year or go home, your time is over brother.

Respectfully, Klay was proven to be washed last season. Curry had to drop a 50-piece to drag GSW kicking and screaming past the Kings in a 7-game 1st round last season. This time, Klay isn't just washed, he's underwater.

@@henryviiifake8244 If we want to be honest, Klay has been washed since coming back. The only thing he has proven, is that he can shot chuck in the regular season. He was not good in the 2022 playoffs. He was terrible last year's playoffs, its just that Poole took all the heat. Not one singular time did he prove he is worth 40 mil. It took him 2 years of being washed to accept a new role, and Kerr still chose to start him again. Speaking of that terrorist Kerr. Instead of developing Kuminga/Moody, he chose to play non NBA players like Cory Joseph, Anthony Lamb and Ty Jerome. Kuminga/Moody shouldve played a ton last year. Now they are underdeveloped when these old guys are falling apart.

I'm gonna repeat a little bit of what I replied to another here. As much as Klay shot 0pts, Wiggs also didn't do as good as we expected him to, coming off his hot '19. If Klay is on the decline then Wiggs should be stepping up to fill the bigger shoe and averaging 25+ as the second option. Klay can then be moved albeit slowly to the bench and be expected to face off against weaker benches. He thrived better this year against opponents' benches too and will have more mileage at or under 20mpg. Not to mention Iron Loon was literally non existent all year. Sorely missing his 10+ reb tonight where the Kings outrebounded and outshot us. What about GP being hurt for this game? That's 4 of the core 6 from '19 missing the entire year (minus Poole ofc). Father time is undefeated. Not to mention - what about Saric's poor signing? I expected him to at least play similar to Beli's role but he can't even manage that. His spot could have been used on a better 4 or 5. TJD was pretty much forced to play as Loon and Saric underdelivered (not that I am complaining 'cuz he's a steal). As much of an optimist I am, their ceiling this year is the R1 playoffs. Can't see them beating anyone else. Is Klay "washed"? Nope. Is he on a decline? Yes. But the problem goes beyond him. It's the disappearance of Wiggs, Loon on top of Klay's decline that sealed GSW's fate this year.

Kerr did a great job setting up Klay as the scapegoat in place of his coaching meltdown since last season. Left him out on the floor for a whole 32 min charade ending up with 0 points in an elimination game. In any series, Curry is going to be the #1 person the defense focuses on. With Klay hitting nothing but dust and Wiggins being extremely underwhelming (both Wiggins and Dreymond had 12pts 🤦), the Kings quickly realised that they don't need to worry about those two anywhere near as much. Ergo, additional attention on Curry -> extra TOs. 🤷
