I have been following this thru from the start not because I'm a huge automotive enthusiasts but simply for the enormous display of human goodness, so Ed in his remaining existence may enjoy his possession. This is really heartwarming to see a group of people making it happen. Thank you for letting the rest of us see, this is the American goodness I grew up on. Thanks for sharing.

So pleasant and reassuring, watching from Europe, to see people in the US banding together as friends like this to help each other, not being subject to knee jerk media reaction against percieved 'socialism'. Those shared values of socialability that always did actually made the US great. So different from the global media representation of the USA in recent years.

Man I love your attitude. Straight to the point, let's get it done. I really enjoyed metal work back-in-the-day. Was long before some of the fancy tools available now. We never did buy a mig. Was back in the 70's. The main thing I appreciate is your honesty by saying 6-8 weeks to completion. So many people have no idea how long this stuff takes. Too many fake reality shows rebuilding a car in one to three episodes. Plus you are the complete package. Metal/body work, engine, wiring...you do it all. Not that many left that can/will do that. Thank you. 👍

It’s a matter of money and whether a person building a off-road vehicle would want to invest a lot of money for labor to make the sheet metal look perfect. I value performance and comfort over exterior sheet metal perfection.

That’s the difference between repair and restoration work in a nutshell. At the same time though there are fewer vehicles with enough quality metal being built that can tolerate this type of work after the mid eighties. Things are just built differently. Much more modular.

Hornets nest story, Grandma told me not to go to the barn but I missed my Grandpa. He and I would go to the barn and salt the pig as he called it. And grind corn for the chicken's. It had been a year since he passed . So I went anyway, I opened the door and a huge nest fell on my shoulder. I ran so fast but they got me at least fifty times. On my neck, shoulder, face, and arms. Grandma being a good southern woman kept her snuff habit a secret. This sounds nasty but it definitely works. She took what snuff she had in her lip and stuck it right on my stings. She put some more on after she wetted it. By the time my daddy picked me up the swelling was almost gone. Hornets are no joke!

I got zapped as a young kid. We were on our way to West View Park, a now closed (1977) amusement park in Pittsburgh. We went once a year with tickets earned through the area grocery store. We were all (10 of us; 8 kids and mom and dad) piled into a station wagon. One of the stinking hornets got me right in the ear. Needless to say, my ear needed its own ticket to ride!
