let’s be real neither enzo or caicedo were bad, neither were great but what can they do with the players around them playing how they did. Szoboszlai was the worst midfielder that started the game for me and i know he scored but other than that he took so long on the ball and just kept making mistakes, if ur pointing out any midfielder for having a poor game it was him

Shows how much we missed Jota and Diaz last season! Both of those missing for 4/5 months meant that others had to play all the time and with Nunez and Gakpo both being new, meant the counterpressing from the front wasnt in sync which filtered through to the midfield and then defence

Our midfielder options are macca, endo, gravenberch, curtis, szobozslai, trent, thiago and bajcetic when all fit. Then throw in elliott who does a job aswell it’s crazy. The difference between Jota’s penalty and the Chelsea appeals is that Jota’s one will actually hurt. It looks like he made a meal of it but the guy stomped on his foot. It’s late and it’s a foul. Nothing like gallagher’s. Gallagher felt slight contact and went down. Not enough. Nkunku one is potentially a pen but again not as much contact that warrants him to flop like that

@@neildeeley4177 Sort of, what I'm saying is that they could stay on their feet but, unlike in other more physical sports, they gain an advantage from going down. It does make sense, even though I agree that football is too soft at the moment, it is still a relatively non-physical sport specially when compared to the likes of rugby and if football players never went down under low contact, the sport would become more of a sport that favours those who are built like a brick which is not what football is meant to be.

We have to grow up and understand that every occasion of physical interaction is not a penalty or even a foul. Football is a physical game. If you look at the amount of force when Van Dyke taps the back of Nkuku's heel. Very few children would have fallen down. From the very beginning Chelsea players were falling doiwn at every opportunity. They tried to use it to break the game up but the ref saw it for what it was. Chilwell getting a yellow for diving..... Nothing pisses off refs more than diving and once Chilwell did that Chelsea's card was marked.

@@briangault5090 Totally agree. In fact I think much of Salah’s early success (read goals) was due to Coutinho’s and Firmino’s interplay drawing defenders to them to make it easier for Mo to drive at his fullback. Since they’ve gone he has been far less successful 1:1. My hope is seeing the team play without him will encourage fans as well as drive Mo to be even better and balanced.
