    I suppose with modern communication technologies, the players can access professors/classroom remotely. As a result the lengthened travel schedule should not greatly impact the athletes academically.

    That being the case, why do we need a campus? Let's just move the whole deal online for all the students! The reality is, college sports are done and the academic side of the "student-athlete" experience is just a facade.

    @@boilerbonz Fading yes, but only for a very, very few will professional sports become a profession. In person classes, encourages face to face interactions with professors, formation of study groups, and just as important hands on experiences ( e.g. labs). There are also numerous extracurricular activities and clubs that are important for the student’s experiences of maturing and personal growth. Perhaps dated in my thinking to believe a “brick-and-mortar “ campus is integral to the goals of a college education…. but what the heck do I know 😊👍✌️
