Gold Mine Found!
Ғылым және технология
We found a gold mine! Lost, abandoned, and dangerous, what treasure awaits us below? We are doing some sampling and mapping of this lost mine to determine if there are any gold riches left behind by the old gold miners. We found free gold on our first try! At the end are also the results of our assays and they are unbelievably rich!

Thank you!!
You and Dan Hurd need to do a Collab.... That wewd 😅 be fun... 👍🏻
With a bit of lumber, sheetrock, and paint you'd have a cozy little bolt hole to call home; warm in the winter, cool in the summer, and nice and quiet all year 'round.
Excellent report from the assay adventure. I look forward to seeing the ore bin samples processed at your shop.
Fascinating.
looking forward to ore big results
Great video!
You should screen classify some dirt where the quartz fines are. Plus 6000 feet is 1.1 miles I really thought you were going to crush the quartz up in this video... and now we have to wait lol
Awesome Jason love it🇺🇸
Ore bins leak and overflow. It's good pickings under them.
This is really fun to watch!
Right on 👌🤙
You should just bring a full set-up so you can run a huge sample right there at the mine.
Jason, there are alot better mines over in that area. I would suggest a book called Oregon's golden years by Miles F. Potter, the last mayor of the town of Greenhorn.
Come to the north valley here in California!! There are Many old ore dumps or spill sites all around Chico area here, plus the rivers, creeks etc.... Many spots just waiting to be planned or collected. And Oroville is just down the road. Heart of Gold Country. 👍🏻😅
Thankyou old timers
Hi Jason, The oxygen meter is a must when exploring caves of any sort due to bad air. To be safe we always had at least one or two peeps stay outside in case we didn't come out at the time we were suppose too. This saved our lives once, otherwise we would have still been down there. Great to listen to someone who knows their stuff so I can learn too.
Love the adventure. 🍻👍
awesome!... you need a brighter flashligt for filming....
Parabéns 👏
Jason, I like your videos. Your video with Dan Hurd was very interesting waiting for continuing film.
Good luck! 👍
Really appreciate the warning about the air alarm being about to go off, my neighbors enjoyed their continued sleep while I'm watching this late at night.
It is refreshing to see somebody took an O2 meter with them! Seem to be a rich mine! 👍

Boy I sure wish I had a ton or two of that
Wow! Nice vid mate
Great video
I'm super impressed that you managed to capture the owners voice so clearly and loudly. My old man ears appreciate it. As a side note - your series on Cerro Gordo is really, really good stuff.
22 oz a ton is bonanza ore. Man I’d be living at that place all summer blasting out those veins. Nice find
Thank you for bringing us along. Fantastic good fun.
Nice episode mate
"Now I gotta get these bags up this hill to the truck" definitely rhymes with "this is gonna suck" 🤣
Very Nice Video!! Good Luck in the Future!! Cheers JJ
Excellent video thank you love the mine exploring content
I grew up in that area! Need to head back up there before the snow and get up to the claim by granite! You should come dredge with us this summer!
The spot price when I checked for pure was 1,742.35/oz, so 10,000 oz would be $17,423,500 for pure gold, less for the raw depending on purity

Currently $2,550 per Oz here in Australia. 👍 That is a pretty rich vein Jason. Now we have to wait until you process some of it to see the result.
Great journey, thank you for sharing your beautiful adventures
Glad you made it out! I have a big chunk of quartz that I brought back from NC and I have no idea what to do with it. There is visible gold on 1 spot
Awesome! Gold Fever now!! 😀
Thanks Jason, you got a old man thinking. That would be a mine for me to dig. I don't do ropes anymore, I'm disable. But at the ore bin site I bring a gen and a rock crusher and load up a pickup.
Allways love these videos Jason keep them coming. Thanks
FANTASTIC VIDEO!!!! Thank you for sharing. What about the leaching water coming down the sides of the mine walls? You got all that color on the floor with all the scrap quartz. Is it silly to think that some or from the walls is leaching onto the ground to include gold?
Around 25:10 I thought that was just straight up gold 😂 I would be a terrible prospector
You helped connect me to my Grand and Great Grandparents way of life, they were miners and my Dad told me so many stories of being the only one that knew how to handle different things that miners were used to back then while he was young in the late 40's and early 50's. Batteries didn't exist or were too expensive to buy during his day, Carbide was what was used to light a lamp on your forehead and if it got too hot it would explode, you had to know when to throw it away from you! I can barely imagine what it took to do things back then.
Now that is some good results! Great video. Really enjoyed
Five stars my friend thank you for sharing excellent video
"Alright let's get this board out and put the ladder in" looks outside and back boom magic ladder! Now that's some good editing 👌
This was an awesome video. What an adventure. My dad is an old gold miner and he would love this. We’ve explored like this together my whole life.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us couch prospectors…
Wow, those are some Impressive numbers. Great job!
That was a rich vein. Interesting video. Thanks for making this and putting it up.
I'd be working like a one leg man in a kicking contest with those results.
As of today, gold being around $1742.35 an ounce, 10k ounces would be around $17,423,500 dollars.
Awesome video! And yes what a channel! I am learning a lot of things from your videos.
If the O2 level gets to 19.5 ppm or less head back for the portal! The "brown goo-gee stuff" would make me nervous too. 😓
That’s cool seeing some prospecting in eastern Oregon I live just south of Mormon basin we’re a lot gold has been taken out thanks for the great video
Good video that mine looks in pretty good shape and to be a good producer. Added a like and FB share too. Cheers.
I enjoy your different videos! When is the use of a pulverizer called for? Stay safe out there and dont forget your pistolas!
Can't wait to watch you run this ore! Thanks for sharing brother much love and respect from Colorado!!
great video. really like your presentations. never gets boring, regardless of what yo are doing.
Just found your channel through Dan Hurds channel. My mom was raised in Baker City and I remember going into the hills and finding all of the old gold mines and taking home bags of rocks. We thought we were going to get rich. My grandparents passed away a few years ago so I haven’t been there in forever, my kids have never been to Oregon to see where we would spend summers and stuff.
That is insane, 21 per ton. I think they gave up too soon,,lol
Love your videos Jason! Maybe sometime you should make it over to Montana and I’ll take you to some of my prospects⛏🏔 Stay safe and happy trails, Montana Josh signing out
I'm heading down to the Virtue Mine in eastern Oregon next week. Gonna do some high banking, metal detecting and maybe get into the old hard rock workings and get some samples.
Love It! Go For It! I'm An Old Dump-Digger Myself.....ALL The Good You Do With/For The Rest Of The Vloggers, You Deserve Color!
that was awesome to see all that Jason . can't wait to see when you go back for more larger samples . The assay's are outstanding for the size of samples you took . Great content Jason . Cheers my friend
I hope you air meter also checks for poisonous gases - when it's wet and you have rotting wood, these can be a real danger!
Awesome stuff, looked fun exploring. I'd love to give that a try. Ty for sharing.
Jason, two of our mines go back a little over 17 hundred feet and the air is bad back there because the rotting timbers use up the good air.
Great content Jason... love following in those old timers steps
You're brave as hell
so cool to look around the abandoned mine with you Jason :) nice assay totals too :)
Nice information Sir thank you very much 👍
Nice informative video Jason. I am so glad that you recorded the 'air alarm'. So many of the adventurist mine-exploring folks rarely take in effect all the dangers that lie below ground. Good job... and how about those assay numbers? Nice to know the ol' Timers left us some to work.

Yeah, co2 is heavier than o2 so in an area with little to no circulation it can accumulate. Same for methane that may escape from fissures in the walls or hydrogen sulphide than can produced by anaerobic bacteria.
Wow. Very cool indeed
I really like your videos, but when underground a broader flood light would increase yours and ours visibility
yeah that hill will put a hurting on use old timers
Just found your channel hello from Australia new sub here ....Love the history you have over there am an opal miner here and love abandoned mines to explore but we dont have the history going back as far .
By the way, this looks like the perfect spot for your portable processing plant with the crusher and sluice.
Nice results from those samples Jason! Looking foreword to see what the Ore bin samples look like
Jason of you made a trailer, self contained ,you could travel to the accessable tailings and
Cool video. Gee those assays are absolutely screaming. What kind or vein is style is it? Orogenic?
Fun fact: The Eiffel Tower was influenced by mining framework developed for the Comstock load and others. The board feet of lumber underground in Nevada is insane. All old growth conifers including sequoia.
You make awesome content Jason, thank you so much.
Love ya work, Oz ain't a far drive.. just a long flight, that beautiful ore that looks like cottage pie
You gotta drag TVR_Exploring out there. Let them do the sketchy ropes n whatnot for you haha.
That was like WOW!! old mines no one has seen for a hundred odd years with a little gold left behind. Can't wait for the rock crush on those samples =)
Take two samples, one from the ore bin and one from the waste dump.
When I went to college in 1979, I majored in geology. The dean of the department asked me what I wanted to do with my education. I told him I wanted to prospect for gold. He laughed and said "there's no money in it, get into petrology instead, I have connections, I can get you hooked up" I quit school after one semester but always wanted to be a prospector. Now being old I am able to enjoy the life I missed with youtube videos. Especially people like you and Jeff Williams. Thank You for sharing your adventures.

mucho enjoymento Jason. Seeing the actual minerals in the vein a highlight. You're doing what Hans said, too old for us but great to see you doing it!
Time to go mining! Well done man! Looking forward to next adventure!🍻
And over here is Mr. Beaaaaarrr!!!! 😳😳😳😳😬😬😬
When entering an abandoned mine, be careful of gas, it's color blue floating.
Wow impressive assay results. Awesome looking mine. I also like how you talk about the gas meter. Some mine exploring people don't explain about dangerous air. Nice work Bud.
This is something I find absolutely fantastic in the United States compared to my home in France. In the US, you have an incredible number of abandoned mines dating back to the time of the western expansion and even mines where there are crazy treasures - like gold, silver, and more. If it's not true, there's still the possibility of an astonishing treasure like the one at Doc Noss's Victorio Peak. I can't quite convey the frustration that French people like me feel when we see Americans able to spend weekends with their families, either exploring and prospecting in the wild or legally. Moreover, you're really lucky in the United States because even though it might be less evident than in 1849, it's still possible that one day a gold miner might find a nugget weighing 4 or 5 kilograms, as was the case in the 1800s. I envy you, American people, for that.
It was interesting watching you going through the mine IAM glad you got your samples done and you got good results great 👍 video Fireman 🔥🔥🔥
