Hey kyle. Jason here in wnc. I live near a place called cullowhee. Anyway, just wanted to thank u for always trying, its inspiring. I started prospecting in march after being laid off. And well its been every creek, mountain and hole i can dig in and finally, in a crevice i found it! Its fly poop, but i found it! Never give up, never stop a hobby, you are a great guy and thank u for the videos. Maybe one day come visit western north Carolina and well go crevice together!

Kyle don't worry about any haters they are just wishing they were out there. Have you tried the water jet to clean out the crevices ? Best advice is zip tie the water hose to the suction hose. Leave about 2 feet of water hose past the end of suction hose . I use 2 ball valves one on the dredge pump one one the out flow end at the suction nozzle then a twist type spay nozzle. Lay your suction hose on its side and spray the crevice cons toward intake . Pry bar is good BUT it could flatten a piece of gold and make it stick to the rock or embed in clay. Try to NOT let clay balls go through the dredge as they will or could roll trough and pick up gold.

Energy/strength trip.. although the gold is a very passionate thing to chase and you still managed to pull some out. Better go back once it goes down! Congrats. My rule is if the creek is coming up, I’m headin out.

perfect day to be at the creek . Now you can see what the water does at the different points in the creek gold only really moves during high water like that . Each of those eddies behind the big rocks are your next targets. I keep some of the bird shot paint it red and toss it in 40-50 feet above the target spot when waters high . Then when i dredge look for the concentration pockets of it . Helps show you the currents and paths

Rough day.. but a bit of excitement!

Screw the snowflakes. Keep on dredging. BTW: heres a tip... (I’ve been dredging since the ‘80s, 2”, 4”, and 6” Keene dredges). There is a nozzle attachment on the side of the pump to attach a garden hose. Use it. First, you can wash your dredge out during clean-up. Second, get a firehose nozzle and use it underwater to power wash out the cracks in the bedrock as your dredge sucks up whatever you wash out. It is similar to the above water hydrolic mining that the old timers used, but you do it underwater. It keeps you from doing those cracks by hand, and it does a much better job. Good luck.

And I'm pretty busy so by the time I make it out to go gold panning the sun is usually going down and I wasn't able to pan too much but I was able to find a decent amount of rocks with gold in them outside old mines in the Dale mining district but I've always wanted to pan for gold and get to see the good stuff in the bottom of a pan. But because I hadn't had any lucktrying different places out I did a pan for my front yard and one pan for my backyard and got three nice little nuggets from them. I was pretty stoked.. anyway I love taking my little piggy "Barbie" out with me so if you need a good traveling companion hit me up I still have 7 (out of 11) of them left.!!
