Arguably the best group compositions in southern gospel music. Danny Funderburk, Glenn Payne, George Younce, and Mark Trammel for The Cathedrals, or Denver Crumpler, Doy Ott, Jake Hess, and the big Chief for the Statesmen quartet, or maybe The Happy Goodmans with Howard, Vestal, Rusty, and Sam. I don't know which is the best group composition, but more than likely one of them. Well obviously my opinion.

I'll tell ya this. Southern gospel brings this to the table......one.....spectacular melodies......heartfelt lyrics......awesome harmonizing......terrific piano playing. Gold City,Palmetto State Quartet,Florida Boys,Cathedrals,Inspirations,Kingdom Heirs, Kingsmen,Happy Goodmans are the reason to spend gobs of money on a high end stereo system. Bring it LIVE into your living room or game room. I set up my Suburban with a system with 14 speakers and 2 12" subwoofers. Tim Riley absolutely shakes the car on "After Awhile"....."When We Sing Around the Throne Eternal"...."I Can Tell You the Time"..... Jeff Chapman of the Kingdom Heirs equals Tim on "earthquake bass" Ray Dean Reese of the Kingsmen not so much but I believe the recordings were much earlier and the recording equipment just not as good.
