It’s not overdone. No excessive riffs and runs. Just pure talent. ❤️

I sure miss this awesome style of southern gospel, it seems much of today's southern gospel is more contemporary Christain style !! Please don't forget our gospel heritage!! Thanks!!

Southern gospel is not the only music genre that's happened to...... contemporary country is unlistenable. No melody, repetitive lyrics and way too much percussion.

While what you say is not wrong, also, do not forget that when it became new itself, Southern Gospel was once also considered contemporary to its predecessor. That goes for all music genres.

Just happened to run across this when I was looking up this old gospel treasure. My mama use to sing this song. I like to think about what that moment is gonna be like when we meet Jesus. I’m sure he was there to walk my mama across those chilly Jordan waters

Very well performed old song. I heard before this song performed by a choir but it sounds fantastic by a quartet also.

When Arthur Rice sang with the Kingsmen, Jim Hamill said he was ( straight up/down and when he drank red soda pop, he looked like a thermometer) :) I believe he's 6' 7" but can't remember which concert I was at to hear that.
