GOKYO RI - What we saw from the top blew us away! | Gokyo Trek | Vlog 08 | S2:E8

• The Life of a Himalaya...
We're Ana & Anton - Adventureholix and travel Vloggers!
In today’s episode, we set off from Gokyo (4,800 m) early in the morning for our final push to reach Gokyo Ri (5,357 m). From the summit we enjoyed a panoramic view of the surrounding blue lakes, the largest glacier in Nepal, and some of the highest Himalayan peaks on earth. This climatic day left us speechless and and created memories that will stay with us for a lifetime. Join us on this final leg of our journey to experience the grandeur of Gokyo Ri and it's surroundings!
BONUS FEATURE: We also speak to our mountain porter - Lukindra - about his profession and the challenges he faces living in the Himalayas. We think it is important to shed light on the topic so that more people become aware of the issues and in order to promote fair pay for hiring a porter in the Himalayas.

Thank you! Enjoy the trekking ❤️🙏
Dear all great gentle very sweet good morning and well sweet welcome. हजुरहरू सबैलाई धेरै धेरै सम्झना छ।
The view at 8:42 ... WOW!
8:08 Everest (8848m) in the middle, on its right Lhotse (8516m, 4th world summit). On the right, in background, Makalu (8475m, 5th world summit). Clouds on east sides of those three summits are caused by very powerful west winds above 8000m
Your country it's so beautiful❤️

Nice video...miss the Himalaya
It's amazing. In which month you did this trek?
What a beautiful atmosphere there. Thanks for the nice footage. I considering to do solo trek to Gokyo without guide or porter, I wander about the route to get there, it’s clear enough to find the way?

It's not too difficult to find the way. There are many guest houses along the way where you can ask and there are many people on the routes trekking. Good luck and enjoy 😊🙏
I really really like gokyo in 9:09 ...bravo
what camera did you use for video footage?
Hello Anton! What gear are you using and how do you pack it together with some other gear? What bag are you using on your trek here in Gokyo? :)

Also we packed everything in two duffle bags (for the porter to carry) and two day packs. Thanks 🙏
Stop the video at 5:33 or so. You can see two interesting things: The level of ice has fallen recently by about 50 meters, the level should be about even with the tops of the lateral moraines but it is nowhere near it. Secondly: there is hardly any clear and clean ice showing. Easy to guess what has happened during the past decades: the glacier has melted considerably and only the rocks it carries are now on the surface. With less weight on the glacier nother effect, which has happened already in the neighbouring Khumbu Valley, is that the glacier flow stops near the terminus above Nha and a very dangerous lake forms there. You can see it happening already. That has happened on the Lhotse glacier with Imja Tsho glacial lake which was not there 30 years ago.
Which month is this
Total cost of trek??
