Island Peak Climbing - A complete visual guide for Island Peak/Imjatse Climbing
Island Peak is the number one rating climbing peak in the Everest Region of Nepal which has (6,189m/20,305ft) heights. It is also known as Imja Tse.
The name of the peak is Island because it is located on the top of Chhukung Glacier, the peak is very challenging for climbing but it is rated ‘moderate’; and although a good level of physical fitness is essential, previous climbing experience is not required. From Dingboche, the Himalayas, and Island Peak are clearly seen as a pyramid of ice and rock. The Himalayan ridge rising to the south from this point leads to the summit of Island Peak.

I just completed ebc… Is it common for people to get sick going this high up to Island peak. Are their any recorded deaths on island peak
I have a trekk planned this year to Everest base camp (chola pass) and wanted to begin mountain climbing after this trek. I’m stuck between a 55L and 65L backpack. I’m guessing the latter would be better for expeditions like this correct?

yes you are right, that is feasible to do climbing after the trek.
So you do not use high camp at around 5600m in November? Why, water issues?

Actually, it depends on the climber. Our group was fit enough to summit directly from Base camp.
Hi, is it possible to do this in mid-february?

December, January, and February are the off-season and it is too cold to do the expedition. We suggest you to do in March, April, May, October, and November. For more information please contact us here at info@hwwtreks.com or hwwtreks@gmail.com
