​​@@She-Devil94honestly it's more impressive how far Tien progressed because he went from being weaker than a character pre timeskip Goku could oneshot to being able to keep up with post timeskip Goku for a bit with his weights removed. And he didn't have to drink holy water to get to that level.

Spoiler alert Piccolo is not wearing weighted clothes he picked that trick up later after seeing Goku wear them and despite the weighted clothes it shows Tien progress that Goku needed to shed his weighted gear. The guide books are wrong tien power level is around the same as kid Goku when he defeated King Piccolo.

I love the introduction of the weighted clothes. It looks kind of satisfying, you know? The moment you take those off, it must feel like being lighter than air.

I wear historically accurate armor for larp. So on a smaller scale I can confirm that taking the weight off actually makes you feel like a feather by comparison 😁

If you pay close enough attention to the scene where Goku steals Tien's belt, you'll see the exact point it dissapears.

Great ideas, bad execution and only good designs from Toriyama but terrible in basically every other way

Tien: Goku, I am your greatest rival and challenge. Goku: You are a great warm-up.

This is one of the best fights in DB and DBZ imo. The fluidity of the moves and the techniques is amazing and one of the traits of Goku comes at the end, when he gets serious he changes his face and he becomes a menace.

A couple points: notice how Goku didn't have to get a running start to get up to Tien Shinhan at the beginning of the fight, and the coconuts in the floaty added drag, making him have to swim harder to maintain pace. And yes, Oolong is a savage.

Weighted training can work if you very slowly increase the weight and don't do it all the time though.

The weighted clothes is suposed to weight 40 kilograms. Thats nothing compared to episode 1 Goku throwing a tree high in the air. Thats actualy a bigger power feat than Goku walking at X10 earth gravity.

the shirt was 100 kilo which is 220 lbs, the hands and feat were 10 kilo each so 22 lbs each. That is ridiculous to move quickly with that much weight, also Piccolo does not use weighted clothes yet. Also you should continue on watching DBZ in Japanese with English subtitles if you have never seen that version, it is like a completely different show compared to the English version.
