Gojira "Toxic Garbage Island" raw multi-tracks [ UNBOXING ]

Get a guided tour of the raw multi-track session for "Toxic Garbage Island" by Gojira from their album "The Way of All Flesh," originally produced by Logan Mader and featured on Nail The Mix. Eyal Levi walks you through all the detail of this classic Gojira session in Pro Tools.
As you'd expect, these tracks are about as pristine as it gets because these guys are some of the very best players in the business - Joe Duplantier and Mario Duplantier are both BEASTS and your job here is simply to bring out the best in what already sounds fantastic right out of the box.
There's nothing too fancy or crazy going on here, just a great example of how good it sounds when you have fantastic players recorded by a solid engineer.
Some things to note: a lot of dynamics in the snare vs many metal recordings; no click track; the bass player does the harmonic scrapes along with the guitars; two guitar tones per side; nothing is hyper-edited to the grid.
Get instant access to the multi-tracks + Logan Mader's livestreaming mix session ► nailthemix.com/gojira
NAIL THE MIX is an online mixing school created by Joey Sturgis, Joel Wanasek and Eyal Levi - the guys who produced bands like TDWP, Chelsea Grin, Blessthefall, Machine Head, Monuments, Miss May I, Of Mice & Men, Reflections, Born Of Osiris, Asking Alexandria and dozens more of this generation's best metal bands.
Every month, NAIL THE MIX members get exclusive access to the REAL MULTI-TRACK SESSIONS from a REAL ALBUM, and a 6-8 hour live streaming class from the producer who mixed it. These aren't bogus covers played by some nobody off of KZread, these are the actual sessions by bands like Opeth, Meshuggah, Periphery, Karnivool, Bring Me The Horizon, A Day To Remember and August Burns Red - and NTM is the only place in the world you'll get access to them!

URM Academy Band is awesome. Thanks for posting this.. I would normally have trouble getting into this.. Mainly because of the screaming. I'm tired of screaming. It has a place for sure, but it's simply too abrasively hostile all the time and often takes away from the music. Some might prefer I keep my opinion to myself, but there it is.

to be more precise the guitars are recorded with mics in front of the amp cabinet. You can use a DI before or after distorsion, depends on the setup, but it's mostly used with the bass (where the DI is more precise to be mixed with the dirty and mushy tone) and rarely with a guitar.
