They apparently performed so heavy/hard during this set they made people leave the festival. From what I read they were the heaviest band on the weekend’s lineup. 💀

yeah it's because the vieilles charrues ( at least back then ) was more a rock , folk music festival so obviously when Gojira showed , people were not ready xd so a good chunk of people left the show that night, it pissed off a bit Joe , that's why he puts everything here

Joe is so amazing on this one. Yeah Mario is a beast, but Joe, Christian and Jean-Michel are pure heroes too. What a piece of Art. Always take care

Nice reaction guys I love this band so so much and I really hope to see them live someday, the energy that they put in their shows even through the screen is so intense that I can't even imagine how it would feel being actually there! Love it! It was this and Flying Whales that just completely sold me on this band. So brutal and heavy and intense, but so beautiful at the same time. It's such a complex track with so many emotions. Can't wait to see them live someday 🤞🏻

If you want to seal them in as a live giant, do the live version of Where Dragons Dwell from Hellfest. Its a simple song but they make it MASSIVE.

This isn’t a band that I see recommended often but it would be sick if you guys reacted to Nile - Annihilation of the Wicked. It’s the title track from one of the greatest death metal albums of all time in my opinion.

Oh man I remember when I suggested Vacuity and first got you guys to check out this specific concert. I'd seriously recommend the song "World to come" from the same concert, but ONLY this performance (album version isn't nearly as good). It's different for a Gojira song, but still similar. Possibly my fav Gojira song of all time.

Saw Gojira live this year, with Deftones as the headliner. Possibly one of my favorite shows I've ever been to. :P

​@@brianmannell9754 I was not listening to Meshuggah too much before, but picked up a ticket to a concert on a whim, literally 4 hours before the show, and never looked back. Absolutely mind-blowing experience, the light, the sound, everything. Somehow they manage to get you into trance, while keeping the composition unpredictable even after 100s time you listen to it. (sad to say I got off Gojira train - I was not too crazy about their last album, and listened to Magma way too much before. I am sure the live shows are a wall of sound, and would not mind seeing them live, but with popularity their ticket prices skyrocketed too :/ )

@@opart It took me a while, but I'm starting to enjoy Fortitude more now. I think it's a solid record, but I do prefer their works before Magma more. Been to many incredible shows in my life, and I'm sure Meshuggah is great as well. Will definitely keep them in mind. 👍🙂

@@opart skyrocketed huh? ... glad I seen them twice a long time ago. 1st time at the Logan Square Amphitheatre, 2nd at a Lounge near downtown Chicago. Amazing experience. I can't remember if it was before they got to tour with Metallica, but I think it was that point where their popularity began to amp up. I wouldn't say I'm off the train, but I don't listen to them as much nowadays. I mean there was a point Gojira was ALL I listened to and tried to learn the guitar riffs. And Meshuggah?...well I always knew they were great, but lately I'm seriously taking the same deep dive I took with Gojira.

They are on my bucket list to see along with Opeth and A Perfect Circle. My wife and I are going to go see Puscifer November 17th

I love Gojira...and live they are just so incredibly tight...they fuckin practice...!!! There are more technical bands,..but Gojira's mix of tech, heart, power,ferocity, and just singleminded commitment to their craft...not many bands can come close to them, let alone compete...IMO...of course it's apples and oranges, but how do you like them apples???

I guess I never thought about it, but you do hear a little Sepultura there in the beginning. Good shit.

Having seen both Gojira and Meshuggah live…Gojira is a solid top-5 live metal band. Meshuggah still absolutely DESTROYS every other band on every level live, and no video on the internet exists which accurately captures the experience

Meshuggah is the king of thechnical rythm , but because of that to me they loose one essential thing sometimes ..the groove.. which makes me having a hard time banging my head on some of their songs

i've seen them both the same day, Gojira won hands down

shame you chose this concert (awful crowd) at "les vieilles charrues" festival ( wich is a rock/pop festival , not a metal one ) ; and Joe's voice isn't as good as it normaly is !!! still an incredible song though !!! bring us more Gojira guys !!!
