Brendon Wilkie aka Wilkshake is a cook and artist from British Columbia, Canada.

Gojira are legends.
This is the soft, friendly side of Gojira. They are an absolute force of nature. Most of their stuff is much heavier, the vocals are even more harsh, they are drum and riff driven, and they tend toward much longer songs. Their lyrics are intelligent, passionate, environmentally based, spiritually based, and believe it or not tend toward optimism and love. Based on your (mostly) collective reaction you have zero reason to dive any deeper 🙂 ‘If they’re still around’ is a particularly awesome comment.. they’ve been touring and stealing the show from more well known bands since 1996, and I just saw them with Mastodon and Lorna Shore (speaking of harsh vocals) last August. They were absurdly good live as always.. they’re regarded as one of the best live metal bands on the planet. If you do end up checking them out again, even on your own time, take five minutes and try Oroborous live at Eurockeennes 2009 - finding and reading the lyrics is critical. You won’t see a tighter or more intense performance. If you don’t like them after that, they’re just not for you.

1:12 - That's the famous Digitech Whammy pedal. They're using the expression pedal (the thing that looks like the accelerator pedal of a motor vehicle) to move two octaves up the pitch of the arpeggio they're doing. 🙂 6:00 - Lol, you don't know what you're talking about! I can tell you that millions of metalheads consider Gojira one of the top tier Metal bands still in activity. Don't judge the book by the cover. This song is somewhat different from the rest of their catalog because Joe and Mario Duplantier's mother (Joe is the singer/lead guitar and Mario is the drummer) became very ill and eventually passed away during the recording of the album where this song comes from, which is a tribute to her, hence the darker tone of the lyrics. Listen to more of their stuff, they'll quickly change your opinion.
