Here's what their Wikipedia article says about this show: "The band's break ended earlier than expected after Gojira was announced as the opening act of Metallica's European and Russian tour in April 2010. In July of that year, they were included in the lineup of the rock-oriented Vieilles Charrues Festival in Brittany. Playing for an audience largely unaccustomed to metal music, Gojira's 'delicate mission' was to close Saturday evening on the Glenmor stage. Described in an article in Le Télégramme as 'more powerful" than Motörhead's concert in 2008 on the same stage, the show began with "Lizard Skin" to an estimated crowd of 40,000 to 50,000; twenty minutes later, between 4,000 and 5,000 people remained. According to Le Télégramme, 'The show had a rare sonic power ... so brutal that the band lost 90 percent of its attendance along the way'. @@sebaszt1312 it seemed like it was left over material from Magma. There were a few gems, but overall it didn't catch me like their previous albums did.

I WAS THERE !!! and coming for Gojira. i was a fan for 4/5 years of them, and see them 3 times before. When the show start, many people have gone away because its a popular festival for various music. Some people where here for stuff like jamoroquai or french pop singer. Me and my friend were totally happy because we got like a private concert of Gojira. It was one of the best day/night in my entire life. i was "destroying everything" in the background on the grass behind the row you see on camera. it was something like 2:00pm by night. I never feel an amount of awsomness like this night. it was late and gojira make something incredible. I remember the tidal wave of energy during the art of dying, becoming my favorite song this day. I was in a sort of trance to see my favourite band, and got many emotion. Saddly gojira wasn't as famous as today, but they gave everything. I will remember this concert all allong my entire life. Thank you Gojira for your music i enjoy for like 20 years now. from guéthary to vieilles charrures, Bercy, Hellfest and accross the world. Merci infiniment !

I just want you to googel the line up for that Festival in 2010. Them starting with "lizard skin" like that was the biggest sledge hammer to the face possible. These people went from some mild Rock, Hip Hop, EDM and Pop to Death Metal in an instant. Imagine for a Minute you were a death metal Fan in 2010 France and, however possible, didn't know about Gojira. You go to a Pop/hiphop Festival with your friends because whatever. Suddenly out of fucking nowhere these 4 just start shredding tha stage like its the last day on earth. Within 10 minutes its just you and 300 other, what to the others looks like, insane people having the night of your life.

@@rafaelmatias1851 according to the Flesh Alive DVD documentary, the snare pattern + kick bring something extraordinary to people, like a call. It giving me chills !

Toxic Garbage Island intro kills it, what the fuck is going on there, the drums sound intensly brutal, literally epic.

You can tell the camera crew and director had so much fun shooting this concert. Wish more directors were this good at covering performances

Joe’s vocals are bonkers good

They sound better live than in studio, absolutely insane

This has to be one of their best ever live performances, Joe sounds especially good as well.

That scream at the end of the Clone bridge was epic.

This is fucking insane, the quality looks like it was filmed in 2022. Do more of these

What an album!

The overall power from this show is truly insane, Indians and World To Come are two of my personal favourites and here they are played with such brutality, especially Indians. Just wish it was part of the setlist these days. The raw vocals during The Art Of Dying gives me goosebumps regards of how many times I hear it, absolute perfection. Can't wait to see them for the first time in Newcastle next year.

Jesus fucking christ, I've been listening to music for two decades and bands that make me feel like this CONSISTENTLY on every fucking track are exceedingly rare. These guys are fucking indescribably talented AND give it their absolute best, this performance is just up there in the best in live music history. Each one of them is a fucking god in his own rights, it's so rare to see people mesh so well and be individually this skilled AND stick together for decades. wild.

i miss this era of Gojira 😭 indians break-down always hits ! \m/

@@jez_77 what about Joe's vocals? I think they've changed a lot. Obviously it happens, but I'm starting to feel like Joe is like Anselmo from Pantera. He tries to do it, but it's not the same and you can hear it clearly. Also the setlists, man I need Terra Incognita there hahaha, the new stuff is not what I love about Gojira xd

Gawd, they were so fking tight. So locked in, it’s crazy. That precision, I know they’ve said in interviews, is one of the things that they strived for. It’s damn impressive. Brutally beautiful.

Such a stacked setlist. Wish they played sets like this still.

Gojira delivers the exact sound from studio to live every time. I dont mean just playing but the sound of guitars and drums are the same. I dont fckin know but they are one the FEW bands that do that. A lot of the time it's always the guitar or the drums that sound a little "off" but never the case with Gojira. God damn these guys are something else.

Without being a metalhead I can say this is the best GOJIRA show I've ever seen 💥💥💥

One of the best times of my life was seeing Gojira for the first time and going out to smoke a cig only to wind up meeting and having a 20 some minute conversation with Joe. I just wish I was a lil more sober. Joe is so amazing and down to earth. Got a pick from and a pic with Joe. Really appreciated him taking the time to speak to a drunken fool lol. Luckily my friend was sober lol.

This is the best performance of the art of dying I’ve seen yet

On thursday I will see them in Bogota Colombia. They are the perfect example of sacrifice and passion. Thanks Gojira for your music and art

Je sais plus si c'est celui la, mais j ai découvert gojira sur arte, ma télé tournait en fond juste pour avoir du son pendant que je jouais sur pc, et quand j'ai entendu ce son, à la télé, à une heure improbable de la nuit j'ai laché ce que j faisait pour kiffer. Arte m'a eu par surprise autant que gojira.

@kingamer1234 any hard rock song is heavier than 90-ish percent of all music. But in terms of metal, Gojira is at well below average level of heaviness (in metal). This is one of the reasons why they are so popular. Most people who listen to metal listen to the bands, which are on the tip of the iceberg of heaviness, because it takes a lot to tolerate really heavi sh#t, and few people are into that. What I would consider decently heavy out of semi-mainstream bands is Meshuggah. But even Meshuggah is still 7/10 on the scale of heaviness. My favorite REALLY HEAVY band is Car Bomb. Their music is very progressive, very complex, sometimes jazzy (or shoud I say Djazzy XD), and REALLY heavy. If you are willing to give them a listen, I would recommendsongs like "Scattered Sprites," and "Gratitude," among many others. These guys are like 8/10, 9/10. And if you want a 10/10, listen to Methwitch "Burn Victim," or "Bed Full Of Snakes." Now that is what I call heavy (and still progressive and interesting in terms of composition, rhythms, timbres etc.)

@Boyitellyouhwhat when we're talking metal, the word "heavy" means smth else than in jazz. Also, I'm not saying it's a competition. Heavier ≠ better. In the context of Gojira and metal in general, we use the adjective "heavy" to describe a specific tone; a specific sound, and harmony. While there is no way to measure the "heaviness" objectively, it is still not totally up to enterpritation. If one tells me that careless whisper is heavier than Gojira, I'll assume that they don't use the word "heavy" in any logical way. If someone calles Gojira, a very mainstream and relatively chill band "the most heavy band in the world", the only thing one might assume after having heard certain bands is that that someone either loves Gojira very much, or isn't into more extreme sounding musig; therefore, Gojira is the heavinest to them, because everything more distorted, dramatic, and gnarly is just too much for them
