@@hotdognr12323 Well just because someone believes something is true does not necessarily mean they, or that thought, are somehow advanced. To me as I look at the stars (most every night) it would appear that we are spinning. But I simply do not posses enough first hand information to make a definitive assumption - or at the very least decide that what I believe is true is really true. One thing I personally would feel foolish not believing in is that most of what I was taught may not have actually been true. I do have the right to think critically but I do not have the right to declare that what I think is true is actually true, let alone advanced.

We would build a better and more efficient world. We are not thinking of being efficient. On Earth we think of how much bigger that tower is than that one. We want things to be as grand as possible. But who's to say "grand" and "efficient" can't go hand in hand.?

I'd love to know why we made it to the moon 50+ years ago and then, after years of excitement and innovation, we just stopped. Why was that? Did we really stop, or did it just fade out of the global spotlight? I've always wondered this. Anyone got an idea?

Going to space is expensive, very expensive. By the time US reached the moon, USSR was giving up from the Space race, because they couldn't afford. With the Space Race won, the US congress decided to give up on it's future plans for the space involving the Moon and Mars, because 1) Too expensive. 2) Nothing to win from a economical or political standpoint. 3) All the immediate needs could be fulfilled by investing in the colonization of LEO (Low Earth Orbit) 4) People are emotional trainwrecks and politicians depend on them to make decisions. When space disasters happened, the nation's mood would fall (Hurting their chances of reelection) and the support for space exploration would go down as well, so stopping the riskier adventures, like the Moon and Mars was also a way to save the support for Space exploration. The investments in LEO was justified because 1) It was cheaper than go to the Moon or Mars. 2) It had economical return, with sat communication. 3) It had military, political return, with GPS, climate sats. 4) The microgravity environment was the same of the Moon, so scientific research that needed it could be done there. Now, we're coming back because 1) Private companies, like SpaceX and Blue Origin, are leading the way towards it, not the government. 2) Space offers important economic rewards, like the prospect of global Internet to be sold to airlines, cargo ships and rural parts of the world (Think Starlink); Mining, this one being out of reach, and space tourism. 3) Today we've an advanced set of robots AND AI to do most of the job for us, something that didn't exist in the 60s or 70s, so space exploration becomes a much safer business. 4) China is a rising threat against the US-EU-Japan-Asian Tigers-ANZAC-Soon India alliance and one of the fields they are investing heavily is space exploration. If the alliance don't act to preserve their lead, there's a great chance China will be the one to lead the future of Space exploration.
