From what I’ve seen it’s a rather large community, one that I‘ll have to admit I’m also a part of. Let’s just say that buying books and reading them are separate hobbies 😂

I can definitely see where you're coming from! 😊 I'm usually pretty good at sussing out which books I think I'd really enjoy and those are the only books I'll buy the entire series of 😁 If I'm not sure then I only buy the first book, still a risk but I've had a good track record so far! Also we have big wait times for shipping in South Africa, so if it's a less popular series I might get all of them at once so I don't have to wait around a month for the next book to arrive since I prefer reading a series all in one go 🥰

I keep all my TBR books on their own shelves just so I don’t have to try and do all that math, LOL! Enjoyed this video - and all the plant hilarity! Subbed :) Happy Reading! 📚

I collected books for a couple years without reading it was 15 years this past year when I finally picked up a book. I got a Goodreads and I made a challenge to read 100books in a year last year I did 24 books. This year starting January 1 I am at 47 books and counting. I am so proud I have around 400 books so I need to get through them in the next 4 years so I can buy more hehe.

I relate to having a high proportion of unread books - I don't buy loadsss but I often donate / give away books once I've read them if I know I'm not going to read them again, so the unread books pile up more! Friends seem to think sometimes that I'm buying all these books and never reading, but I promise if I kept all the books I'd ever read there would be 10x more than the unread ones ;_;

Same cause i never reread 😅 so the books just gather dust and i feel bad for them cause they are most beloved. Also i see that most donated books are books that are unwanted there are no recent titles so i give mine away

Me too! I have a second-hand shop near me and they give you a credit if you donate, so it's a problem because I get rid of my read books but then buy more with the credit I get 😂🫣

I currently have exactly 30 books on my physical tbr. I started keeping track of them quite a while ago already so it won't get out of hand haha. Every time I see content like this I feel way less bad about my own physical tbr 🙈

Definitely go and give them a count! It's an eye-opening experience (at least for me 😂) also don't feel bad because there's apparently a whole group of us with a huge physical tbr 🙊

thankfully, pretty much all the books I have read are my giant fantasy books/series. most of the ones I haven't read are my lit/contemporary fic and classics, but they're all relatively shorter than my fantasy ones

I have 189 undread books and they take up two and a half billy bookcases lol. Once you go over the 100 mark, you never go back down.

My new year's resolution was to read all of the books from my physical tbr, and it's benn going quite well actually! I've gone down to 42 books (+3 books in Italian that are too difficult for me for now 🙈) so it's getting better. I hope once I read them, I'll finally feel free! haha

My tbr has been at around 20 books for about a year now. Its still a bit much for me, i think 10-15 books would be ideal but I somehow can't manage to get that number down. Having a big tbr is definitely something that would make me super anxious but I do kinda envy your big selection

It can be a bit overwhelming having so many choices 🙊 I take forever to pick my next read and usually struggle to make a decision 😂 But it is nice being able to read whatever I feel like 😇 Though it would be such an accomplishment to look at my shelves and have most of the books been read 🥺

I feel you lol I currently own 83 unread books. It's easier for me to keep track of them since I have them on a separate shelf from my read books, so that's nice. My goal for the year was to get under a 100 unread books again (I think I started at 110?) and I'm going strong so far 💪

I do that too xD I really hate cliffhangers so I'll just wait until a series is complete to buy it or I just buy each one as it gets released but still only read it when it's finished xD I just love to binge read and don't want to have to wait even a second until I can continue a series 😂 but I get why it may be weird because what if I don't like the series and I have all of it? I'm pretty good at knowing my taste by now so it rarely happens and I can always just sell the whole series again if I really don't want it anymore after reading and I try to don't do it as often anymore, like I usually try to get it maybe first as an ebook until I'm sure I need it on my shelves 😂 But yeah, my tbr shelf is sorted into stand alones, complete series and incomplete series I won't read yet :'DD (I mostly stick to duologies or trilogies nowadays but I also wait for Heaven Officials Blessing to be completely released which are 7 Books) 😂 I'm also a bookseller and I can't really control myself when it comes to buying books :'D

I also like to have matching editions and if there are special first editions or I just know when the paperback is released I will have a hard time getting the hardback I just get it and wait xD Or I just buy box sets with all matching editions when I'm patient enough, depends really 😂

No offense taken 😂💕 I really like reading series back to back and I only usually buy books I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy 🥰 plus my larger series I've been lucky enough to find second hand, so it helps ✨️ Also here in South Africa, depending on how popular a series is, means that the books can take up to a month to arrive so I like to buy before I begin reading so I don't have to wait 😊

Oof this is a tough question 🫣 I'll be honest and if you have other books you want to read, prioritize those- the ending to the trilogy was pretty bad for me personally and it ruined the books, it's one of the few books that I've read that made me very upset because it did have some really great aspects and could've been amazing but the ending was just meh- I've seen some people love it but it felt to me like the author got trapped in a corner and took a very easy way out that wasn't satisfying at all and had a couple of blaring plot holes in it 🙊 Which is a shame because I did feel like all three books did have some great strong elements, but overall I don't really recommend it especially in your case where you find you're already struggling with it ✨️😊

Still laughing at you blurring out your dead plant hahahaha. Also, as someone who also has over 100 unread books I like to follow the advice of a random person on the internet who said that books are like wine. You save them so you can have the right book for the right mood.

I mostly buy books at my local thrift store. The most expensive ones they sell are $3. So yeah I’ve been buying quite a bit, lol. I think I’ve only bought a few new/full price.

My second hand shop also sells for prices like that- you come out with an armful of books and don't break the bank, it's great 😂 It's the best when you find books you've been wanting as well 🙊

I have about 90 unread books. Although 30 or so are from my aunt so technically I only own 60 unread books. Doesnt make it any better though

I feel like if you started reading it and didn’t like it just give it away or sell it. Or leave it unread on your bookshelf for the aesthetic, lol. Don’t force yourself to finish reading it. As long as you tried to read it.
