back in the day this must of been a real hot spot!

It was a strange feeling being inside the chamber where 4,000 years before, hot lava/magma was being thrown into the sky & the surrounding area!

In preparation for my English language we did a mock and one of the texts was about this volcano so I was intrigued to look it up and was not disappointed! It's epic!

Been to Iceland twice now, and had no idea it was so close to Reykjavik. Gonna have to go back again....and again! Love Iceland!

Yes there is a chance the earth will get angry and make all extinct volcano wake up and vape

We did this August 2013 but the weather wasn't nearly as nice. Had to turn back on the first try and come back the next day but it was worth it.

It's actually not the only volcano in the world you can visit inside (as you say in the video). Another example is Algar do Carvao (in Terceira island, Azores), which you can visit on foot (without any sort of equipment).

i think they mean the magma chamber. As far as I know, algar allows u to enter a lava tunnel

That is a cinder cone volcano correct? Top of the volcano, crater, and below the crator is the vent, and under the vent is the magma chamber. But wait, no side vent? Usually Cinder cone volcanos have 1 side vent on the side. Does the opening that emptied the lava our shall I say, magma, count as the vent? If someone could reply to me, please do! Thanks :]

Why there is no magma the answer is that a big fissure occure that dranes the magma and those rock colapse from the selling covering the supply of magma thats why its no longer active
