It’s few weeks later now and i have and even though we’re pretty sure we’ve narrowed down the area pretty good, unfortunately we will not be going back out to look for it. The woman was not pleased with our efforts, and the fact that we wouldn’t go back out the next day to try again, so she fired us from the job (even thought we weren’t charging her) and said she’d go get it herself. I dropped her keys back off to her and have not heard from her since.

Darn Casey, it's too bad that she was so pig headed with your herculean search efforts because if you were still on it and not successful, I was thinking of getting Dave Sparks involved with his assortment of aircraft to do some searching from above, and he could probably make it a tax write off, maybe. And what a Crazy story this is that has what I would call a good ending because of the gentleman making it out alive and getting picked up by aliens or eaten by creatures. Perhaps it will have a second ending when the vehicle is located and then she calls you again to go recover it.

Actually, if she does "go ahead" and get someone to grid search, (with, or without, finding it) - I hope she has the biggest contractual BILL for those services, that will far outweigh any cost of replacement for another vehicle, simply to prove to her, that she should NEVER have proven to all of us around the world, that she's just an ungrateful slob, a KAREN at her worst, which in some small way makes me pleased, that her husband got it so far away, to be LOST in the first instance - and yes - I hope he survives/ gets well & divorces her. Why? Well at least half the cost of the lost vehicle will be his and someday - he may even bother going to reclaim it - although I doubt if he'd bother.

Well @Patricia Eich [quote] As I scroll through the comments I see that ppl who follow Casey are kind hearted. [unquote] YES we are mostly kind hearted, but we are also very much alert - to the actions of stupid people - who FIRE volunteers. And as for no hurtful comments - maybe that's because people put BOTH sides in the one comment, congratulating Casey for searching for free (on his B/Day too) - yet apologizing about the lack lustre event of being FIRED from volunteering, which is about the lowest form of rejection that the little Miss (Mrs.) KAREN could do - especially now that everyone all around the world is able to hear and understand what she stupidly did to Casey. I'm from down here in the South Pacific in the small Island Nation of "NEW ZEALAND", & yet even I can see that the woman went off half-cocked at the only person who was able to help her (at the time) for free. The next time she asks anyone - she'll discover she'll need to PAY (and probably pay a lot more than normal - after this video goes viral) .. She made a HUGE mistake in firing a volunteer, as now - anyone with half a brain who is ACTUALLY CONTRACTED to locate and salvage her vehicle out for her, should claim a LOT MORE EXPENSES, than she'll ever have the funding to pay for, or CALL HER ON IT, by telling her she's been BLACKLISTED by every recovery contractor - in the entire USA. Thus - the woman won't be able to find her vehicle (except by accident alone) and even if it is found, she won't be able to hire anyone to do the job, if she has now become BLACKLISTED for her own stupidity, at firing a volunteer.

I continued on 20 East and got to Burns to be the first customer at the station I stopped in in Burns. I followed 20 rather than get on 84 near Boise, and my brother lives just a few blocks south of 20. So I drove 20 from Santiam junction all the way to Boise.

Let's do the math. Bend to Riley is about 100 miles, then probably another 100 looking around then probably more than 100 getting back home. So 300 or more miles That big rollback must not get more than 5MPG So you used at least.60 gallons. You spent your and Ben's time and more than $400 on fuel and she fired you from a job that you were nor getting paid for? Amazing people

Reminds me of the type of prank construction workers play on a rookie, sending them to find some mythical piece of equipment…everybody knows where it is but nobody actually has it

Sorry she didn't understand how much effort you guys put into locating her auto. Especially how much fuel and time you both sacrificed in searching. I hope that she watches your video and calls to apologize.

@station247365: Exactly my thought about her seeing the video and realizing how determined C & B were to find her car, even if she can't bring herself to apologize.

Yes and your title says, Going Home Empty Handed. I feel like this is a once in a lifetime occurrence. Thanks for taking the time to show us. The guys that lived out there said they had never seen the waterfall, so that makes us lucky.

Speaking as an amateur photographer that would have been a real gem especially in the right time early or late in the day. Would be so much better with stills than video though. Thanks for sharing such a gem. I understand your excitement.

More. Videos. Like. This. The recovery work is fun and educational to watch but when you do scenic stuff like this, it's icing on the cake. Were you going to start a channel re exploring the countryside? Sort of recall that at one time. It was the (ice) caves episode?

That's a shame she took out her frustration on you. You tried, and probably were going to again, but she had to pop off. I get it. No vehicle, hubby in hospital. Bad days. But she needed to direct that frustration elsewhere. Regardless, seeing that waterfall was awesome and those nature shots and stops are a big reason I love your channel. When you see something cool, you don't pass it up. Keep up the good work and happy late birthday. 🍻

Well you guys definitely covered some ground looking for that vehicle. Yes you did the right thing turning around when you did. Living out here I know how easy it is to get stuck in the middle of nowhere. I haven't done it yet, but I've helped out a few folks. Even a UPS truck that got stuck in my driveway!

I can not wrap my head around the mindset were you get angry at a person donating their time and equipment (at a cost to themselves) because they set limits on when and how they can help you.
