That gift card plus swashbuckler combo was insane. Swashbuckler was getting +4 mult per round when it was on the end from Gift Card. It had +44 mult when you sold it!

+44 mult is rather insignificant compared to the ability to scale. Since its the last effect that triggers before chips are calculated it also doesnt benefit from any X-mult so its really pretty useless at that stage.

The banana card is usually good to grab early on for the mult to get past those early antys.

Since you get money for unused hands cards like the banana and the popcorn can more than pay for themselves.

If the banana gets destroyed, it will come back in the shop as a x3 Multi. So even if it dies, you can get a way better card.

This game is the definition of Dungeons & Degenerate Gambling. Everything about it tickles my brain - the movement of the cards, the sound effects and the soundtrack - and satisfies my ADHD. As a DJ and Producer I would have liked the soundtrack to be a perfect loop tho, but thats the only little thing that could have made the game even better. Also Day9 playing this game is soooooo good

I am LOVING watching these Balatro videos.

I dreamt about balatro last night, this game has been living rent free inside my head.

Seems like things can go really nuts in this game. I had a hand worth 600k and I was surprised not to get an achievement. Turns out there are achievements for 1 million and 100 million in a single hand 😯

Totally. I initially thought the soundtrack was Chris Chistodoulou as well. It's not, but I can totally hear the influence, particularly in that lead synth. 😁

By the time Day9 uploaded balatro again I beat all the decks available in the first 2 difficulties lol This sure is a great game, got it on the phone and it became a time machine

Did he replace a Holographic Double Tag (providing +10 multi) for a card that does +8 multi only on Aces, twos, threes, and fives... for which he only has Aces?

The entire point of that card is to be sold for the double tag. Fibonacci isn't the best choice but still an improvement
