Man losing Steel Joker really cut your mult mult in a noticeable way, quite literally by 20 times. I wish there were more ways to get negative edition jokers that maybe had a different cost other than hand size. That way you could have negatived Steel Joker and kept him stacking through the game until the end.

I'm glad you went for 9s on this one. Ace, King, and Queen decks are all super common, this is one you really don't see every day

the amount of times he left discards on the board with purple seals in hand and empty consumable slots hurt me in places I didn't know existed

Yeah after watching Aliensrock play this game, it is rough watching Skoottie. Skoottie makes so many misplays because he is just trying to play too fast.

@@Beessoup actually I prefer watching skootie play compared to aliensrock. I feel like while he makes misplays he fundamentally understands the game much better and his misplays are more "oops I forgot" rather than actual misplays. meanwhile I feel like aliensrock has a weaker grasp of the game but a more careful mindset, which is an excellent learner mindset but a less interesting watching experience.

I got a triple cavendish run unseeded and scored 3 billion with it, one of the most fun runs I’ve ever played

selling dna for bean was a bad play skoots :( dna was plus 4 hand size permanently

54:00 It would take 8 additional triggers of steel to equal the benefit of the Steel Joker at that point in the run; adding a DNA only gives 3 at best in the copy pattern. It's a huge falloff, and falls off more as SJ scales.

37:07 that's an interesting rare case where destroying your entire hand just gives you a free entire hand refresh 🤔

It unfortunately doesn't matter a whole lot, right now, only occasionally being useful with consumable cards like Immolate + Immolate or Immolate + hanged man, but I can see it being used for some interesting stuff in mods or future content updates.

2 ectoplasms gets you to hand size 5 in the ghost deck, so 1 immolate works well there

this issue is that glass cards only have a chance to break if theyre played and scored

5:11 "Nevermind, it was the right play all along" He says after losing one gold by not playing Hermit before a purchase, as he then uses Fool without using Hermit beforehand and misses out on a further 8 gold! Oops lol

I think selling that last DNA was a mistake; using it (plus the 3 copier jokers) to clone a red-sealed steel 9 let you go over your hand limit in order to make the second hand pop off.

I think it's so cool how patient you are with your viewers and questions from the chat

For future runs where you’re focusing on one card you can use justice on cards you don’t want and just play them and hope they break, especially when you have to use hands as discards

I was curious so i did the math, the steel joker with a 57.75x mult is better than the blueprint joker, assuming you have 10 steel cards in hand and the blueprint and brainstorm are triggering the mime ( 1.5^40 * 57.75 > 1.5^50 )

I think he should have replaced 2nd DNA with Steel Joker. he didnt need 4 Dna triggers on Ante 10 or 12

when he got rid of the steel joker it had x21.5 mult, scaling 0.25 mult per extra steel. To scale it to 57.75 he would needed to add another 145 steel cards, with 3 extra steel created per round, it would have taken 48.3 rounds, which wasn't possible since he was already at ante 12. However, if he had replaced 2nd DNA with blue print, he would have continued to make 3 extra steel per round, kept the steel joker's scaling, and still be able to copy mime whenever he needed, it would have been the much better play

The blueprint can copy the steel joker which means it gets squared every blind.

Very fun! 😂 Bit frustrating at moments when he gets caught up in the memes and misplays small advantages, but keeps up the engagement 👌

They need to make scaling cards retroactive (and reduce the mult to compensate) they're way too overpowered if you get them early (it pretty much forces you to get them) but if you get them late it just feels bad. Take a shot for every "If only I got it earlier" you hear when binging Balatro videos.

Honestly would be a fun joker to grab, the "time traveller's joker" perhaps?

You needed the DNA for the extra cards it puts in your hand with red seals.

This was sick! You could probably milk this seed for a few other videos, like an ace fib run, 8 ball, all kings, etc... and yes I would probably watch all of them!

Tip: try to stay above 25$ for extra money

holy crap I didn't even consider that Balatro could be ported onto mobile until you brought it up. I would never get any work done ever again if that happens.

The seeded runs are fun, love seeing ludicrous stuff go the distance.

you don't have to only discard 1 card for Burning Joker, it copies the hand, so you can discard 5 cards and still upgrade High Card

What would be funny for a mod is “Bloated Joker” +1 to mult for each card above 52/40 for abandoned in your deck, like erosion but big

I’ve done a bit of maths so the theoretical highest score following this strategy with the idea of a had size of 8 (kings taken) baron mime and two face would give you base+10 x base mult^288

Having Steel Joker versus efectively another Mime is kinda complicated. The idea is that Steel Joker scales infinitely as long as you continue to add steel cards to your deck. While copying Mime adds a more short-term buff to your score. Your hand size will more than likely never increase to give you more procs. Therefore, you've hit a brick wall in your scaling potential. Steel Joker, being able to scale infinitely, would eventually catch up to the power spike from mime. The problem is time. You would never be able to reach that point because the ante outscales you. So the best choice is to simply take the short-term and pray you find something better.

If the bean was compatible then that wouldve been a crazy synergy

Have you seen Aliensrock double DNA joker run. He duplicated foil glass aces with the glass joker and eventually added the red seal, with a glass joker, totem and blueprint. He scored into the quintillions and it wasn't seeded.

This shows how crazy strong baron is, this was so optimized and could only get e14.

@@powerlifting1012Playing high card leaves more room to hold steel cards in hand. With the mime joker + red seals the extra 12 x 1.5 triggers is much better than the higher base mult & chips from flush five in most situations.

It comes with this deck (the Ghost Deck*). *Spectral Cards may appear individually in the shop, and you start with a Hex card.

Huh. I didn't know if you destroy all cards in your hand it redraws for you without using a discard. Makes me think a no discard challenge could be an interesting idea.

19:36 should have use the death and then get it back with fool. Replace any card with another steel nine would have been better than doing nothing there.

I good triggered by just discarding one card. You are able to discard 5 cards and still level up high card

With this amount of cash I would've just take the bull or the money boot,and I don't understand why selling the steel joker

4.864e14 with a normal purple seal 9, but only goes up to 9.728e14 with the next 9 but the same amount of steel triggers from the hand? Am I missing something or is my math just not mathing right?

i don't really see the problem here, he played a first hand making 4.864e14 with 11 steel cards and a purple seal 9, so basically a basic 9 The second hand scored exactly the same amount of chips since it was a basic 9 and still 11 steel cards in hand So the total is 4.864e14 + 4.864e14 = 9.728e14

Very entertaining run! But it was kind of bothering me that you got the interest voucher so early and then never stopped rerolling at 50$. You got the voucher at Ante 5 and got to Ante 15 so that was close to of 10*3*10$=300$ wasted.

Idea for joker: Gain ×0.01 Mult for each discard done. Alternate: Gain ×0.05 Multi Per Discard (resets per ante) Alternate Alternate: Gain ×0.1 Multi Per Discard (resets per round) [Upgrade[new opiton in the two button menu that shows when clicking the joker]: (costs 25 dollars) Gain one chip for each hand played throughout the run)].
