Enjoying your new adventures in your camper van .Like this one of the Cheviots .We stayed at Barrowburn tea rooms when it was a B and B while walking the Pennine way .Ian and Eunice were lovely there . Looking forward to more of your campervan exploits. Gives me and my wife ideas where to wild camp in our van . Love Northumberland you are spoilt !! Best wishes . Billy

    Thank you Billy, you are so right, we are spoilt, there are some great places in Northumberland to wild camp in our vans. I only hope it doesn't get too popular or the bad campers don't leave a mess because I fear the authorities may clamp down on it in the future.

    Berlingo's are great stealth camping vehicles because they dont look like campervans. When the family and I went to the campsite in the Newlands Valley, Lake District, we paid for a car, 4 people and a tent, which was much cheaper than the campervan fees. Steve Butler who is on KZread, visted the same site a few days earlier and paid more for one person and a van, which was a smaller footprint than what we had. The Coquet valley is a lovely place to visit, I don't see many people going there on KZread. When you come around the valley bend at Barrowburn, its one of the best views in the Cheviot hills.

    Hey Up matey. Great little motor for camping in. As the years go by I find myself favouring the back of the Volvo XC70 for overnighters. Less messing than putting up a bivvy and heck of a lot easier to pack up. Great when its wet too no drying kit out when you get home. Just have to find a happy medium between ventilation and keeping warm this time of year..... Get into the Galloway forest and pull into a fire break entrance. You can just about disappear from sight in them. Hope to see more van adventures and development of your set up.

  • @Fell_Wanderer

    @Fell_Wanderer

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thanks, Galloway forest seems a good idea, wild camping is less restrictive and the dark skies makes it ideal for astrophotography. I have to admit, loving the comfort of the van and not needing to carry heavy packs. I think cooking under a small tarp with be the next thing I try. Don't like cooking out the back for safety reasons. Also found I was constantly moving stuff around when changing activities, having stuff in their own bag or box will be alot easier. I found keeping the Jackery on the front passenger seat charging stuff was the first good idea I came up with, hopefully more ideas on future videos and also tips from you guys, thanks for your input.

    @@Fell_Wanderer So true the night skies up there can be stunning.I can see some more of your fantastic time lapse star fields coming. My best gadget buy for motor camping is a small cheap usb powered light (type you can get for lighting up a key board with a flexible arm) in the motor. I find it ideal for casting just enough light to see by and far better than using the interior light in the motor making it look like a light house. Stay safe Damian.

I would be MOST grateful if at some stage you could explain your OSMO Action setup, I don't know what that part is on the top, a mirror, a light or both and the microphone rig looks mint too. The Osmo action is in a cage with a cold shoe adaptor on top to attach a small light which is a Manfrotto Luminuse which is nice and compact but there are better small lights out there, mine isn't bright enough but still ok for fill in light. The Osmo Action has a USB-C audio adaptor with a Movo VXR10 shotgun mic attached to a cold shoe mount on the Ulanzi MT-16 mini tripod which I like because it extends to make a longer selfie stick. This setup makes for a great compact vlogging rig

    You will fit into the XL but on the standard version, you might have to move the front seats forward to lie comfortably flat

    For a Berlingo XL 3rd generation, the same one as mine, load length is 7 foot 1 inch, the Berlingo Medium load length is 5 foot 11 inches, so you would need to move the seat forward a bit. You will have to make some kind of raised platform for the space between the folded rear and front seats when in the sleeping position. Pushing the front seats forward creates a big gap where you will put your pillow.

    Could be a dogging location but it's a bit remote for that kind of activity. No one flashed their car headlights when I was there.
