Welcome to this episode of the Baldcafe Podcast.
Summary
Charan's confidence increased from 20% to 100% after addressing hair loss through self-improvement. Charan felt like a "joke" and struggled with low self-esteem due to hair loss, leading to difficulty feeling whole in social settings. Charan started noticing hair loss at 18, with family members suggesting minoxidil and derma roller treatments. Charan experienced embarrassment and shame due to hair loss in college, leading to hiding his hair with hats and caps. Charan realised he wanted to shave his head after a colleague made a comment about his hair loss.
Charan decided to take matters into his own hands and shave his head, despite societal pressure to address the issue. Charan's mom tried various remedies to help him grow his hair, including onion juice and lemon. Charan respected his mom's efforts but found some of the remedies to be unconventional or unhelpful. Charan underwent PRP treatments but realised the medication reduced his testosterone levels without proper disclosure from the doctor. Charan eventually shaved his head and found it to be a liberating experience, allowing him to move on from hair loss.
Charan reflects on the financial cost of his hair loss journey and wishes he had taken the "last resort" sooner. Charan describes his decision to shave his head as a permanent solution to his hair loss, despite initial resistance from his mother. Charan's mom was initially worried about what society and relatives would think, but eventually came on board with their decision.
Charan shaved his head to overcome insecurity, he became motivated to improve overall health and appearance.
Charan's journey towards self-improvement included fitness and skin care, and he aims to be the best version of himself. Charan encourages those feeling hopeless to look for the light at the end of the tunnel and work towards it.

They may come around with time like this man's mom did. It's very interesting what I'm learning about Indian culture in this video. Obviously, the value we place in our hair is universal, but it's so interesting to see so much of a stigma on rocking the bald look in Indian society. Outside of individual family units, how would you say the general society looks at it?

As a bald Indian dude with a beard, this whole story is completely true. The expectation of others and increased insecurities until you finally just go and do it! I shaved my head 6 months before my wedding and people thought I was crazy. Never looked back and best decision I ever made! Look great btw and thanks for sharing!
You both have helped my with my decision to go bald. I respect the both of you for sharing your story and helping people like myself make this decision. It’s a hard decision to make and drains you mentally. After watching this video I had my dad on shave my head and became a member of the Bald Cafe. Just wanted to thank you two. My wife loves it and said what took you so long. My Mom and Dad love it and told me I look more confident. Now hitting the gym and have a whole new lease on life. Can’t thank you enough. I have been watching the bald cafe videos for about a year and finally joined this great community. You’re truly helping men that are struggling with this and I appreciate it more than you know. Have a great day and god bless you and the people who share there story.
I love these storys! Thank you! giving me a lot of hope.
This was really inspiring, thanks man. I feel like there's a part of me that is really wanting to be free from the stress of having thinning hair, and it gets harder and harder to not listen to that internal voice in me day by day. But I can't help but think everyone is going to look at me differently or like me less as a person, or think I'm ugly. I think I'm worried I'm going to think I'm ugly. But I know it's gotta be done and I have to face it and accept it and love it.

Hey Baldcafe and other fellow members of the Brotherhood, I am 22 years old and I have been shaving my head for a little more than 2 years now. I did this after about one and a half to maybe 2 years of way too much worrying, taking pictures from above etc.. the usual shit. I talked a lot about it with my dad, who also is bald, and he always said I should just shave it off. So around May 2022 I shaved it off. I was not really ready for it, but I have a good bond with my dad and I believed him when he said it would help if I shaved it off. I had also been watching your videos for a while and they always managed to cheer me up and fill me with some confidence. I did feel sort of liberated when first shaving it. However I still tried to let it grow back. It looked awful and after 5 months I had to shave it all off again. Now I am 2 years further and I still have not totally found the confidence I hoped I would get. I still feel insecure about my hair (or rather the lack of it), especially around girls when going out in clubs. I have thoughts like: 'if I would still have had hair everything would be so much easier' and I really want to get rid of these thoughts. Would anyone have tips? Even if not, it already feels good to write this down here. Thanks, Mas

@@masvanmeurs8177 alter rhe way you look? All it does is keeps your hair healthy and the follicles open. Same with finestride. It doesn't add anything you didn't have before . I liken it to working out and keeping your body in shape and healthy. Once you stop working put you lose the gains and start to get unhealthy again. You said you had side effects with minoxidil that's the reason you quit. Which is fine. But to use the "altered looks" excuse is just another way of trying to get others to not use it. It really can help people and not give side effects.
@danceswithcomicbooks7733

@@masvanmeurs8177 minoxidil and finestride doesn't "alter" the way you look. Everything ot does for you is already what you have or had. Minoxidil ncreases the hair shaft volume and grows new hairs. Finrstride knocks out dht and you'll not lose any more hair. These drugs keep your hair follicles open and healthy. It's like a weight lifter who keeps lifting weights to keep his health and physique. I get it if you had side effects its not for you but not everyone has some effects. These drugs can really help others.

Not shaving, not minoxidil, not finasteride, not transplants and not wigs. They need to get hair back like all healthy people.
