Going Back to the First Chrysler 300C HEMI | 14 Years Later - In Depth Review Tour | Auto Vlog

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Its been 14 years since this Chrysler 300C was sold new in dealerships all over America. Motor Trend had given it there Car of the Year award and people were buying these like hot cakes at McDonalds LOL. Finally America had a sedan with V8 Power and a touch of luxury looks. Of course its not a real Luxury car, but it was something special in a price range that American's could afford that usually could not buy a Benz, Audi, Lexus etc...

Vehicles filmed at Dealerships are For Sale. Make sure to visit the dealerships website for detail info about each vehicle. If your watching a video thats older than 90 days you can expect that vehicle to most likely already being sold, unless its a new car.
FYI - Charleston Car Videos on KZread Started in 2011. Back in 2008 is when I started filming cars as a car salesman to give people a better way to see a new or used vehicle. Over the years I ended up selling over 450 vehicles from doing videos. Today 1000's of vehicles have sold from people watching my car reviews in America.

When my dad passed away in 2011 his 08 was left to me the first Chrysler I ever owned and surprisingly very few problems other than ball joints and other front-end components. I've had it for ten yrs has172k miles never changed the plugs and it still runs very strong probably one of the best cars I've ever owned

Just wanted to let you know that I still own my 2005 Chrysler 300C. It had 18,000 miles on it when I bought it. It now has 375,000 miles on it! Those are miles that I put on it. Mostly highway for about 13 years but now I’m driving it mostly city. My greatest expense on this car was a blown head gasket at 200,000 miles. It looks better than the one in the video. I love my 05 Chrysler 300C!!!

I’m here in 2022. My brother Steve, who was a big MOPAR lover, left me his 2005 Chrysler 300C in his will. I’ve been a Caddy and Lincoln man my entire life and have to say I’ve gotten more compliments on this car, than all the others combined. The car is immaculate, every single option that was available at the time. It looks like it rolled out of the showroom. Dark Blue with Gray Leather interior. 45K miles. It certainly looks and feels like a luxury car. I was never a fast driver , but something about this car makes me speed on the highway. It’s the best car I’ve ever owned. I let it sit for a few months before registering it, and had to buy a new battery, about $240. The size of the battery looks like it’s for a truck (94R/H7). Like others here commented, the battery is in the trunk. Fortunately I didn’t have to go through the back seat to pull the trunk release. I hooked a booster up to the terminals located under the hood, and was able to electrically pop the trunk using the key fob. After the first time opening the trunk lid all the way and leaning in to inspect the battery compartment, I did get the obligatory trunk lid hit on the crown of my head. Ouch!! It hurt and stung like hell! While I was frantically rubbing my head and hopping around, I managed to quickly scan the area for any neighbors that might have seen this embarrassing moment. I don’t think so, but some seem to smile more when they see me. Okay, they laugh! Haha! It wasn’t funny. (I like to think it was my brother saying hello and getting a nice chuckle out of it). I then temporarily used a broom stick to hold the trunk open while I waited on my delivery from eBay for 2 trunk and 2 hood gas struts/lift supports. (Only $25 for all 4 with free delivery!). I’m now experiencing a problem with the shifter, not moving out of park. That’s what brought me here to KZread and then this here video. (It seems that this is a extremely common problem with the Chrysler 300/C) Fortunately, I found on KZread a temporary solution of using a override button that allows me to shift into gear. From videos that I’ve seen on KZread the past 2 days, it’s either a “pink thingy” in the shifter that costs under $30 (if I do it myself), or a 5 amp fuse under the hood (Fuse #9) that is causing these problems. I’ll find out tomorrow, going to try the fuse replacement first, it being the easiest. I will come back and repost what the solution was for the shifting problem. Perhaps someone can use that info to make their life a little easier. These are all very minor problems, especially for a car that is 17 years old. I love this car! Be well everyone. Thanks for reading.

I had the same problem in 2010 with my 2005 Chrysler 300C. I was stuck in the parking lot of a shopping center because I couldn't get the car out of park. I had to get it towed back home. After watching several videos on KZread and reading comments on Chrysler 300-related forums, I ended up opening the shifter compartment. The problem was indeed a broken piece of pink plastic. I was shocked and furious when I found out that Chrysler used a piece of plastic in such a sensitive place. Given how often it is moved inside the shifter block, one would expect it to fail over time due to fatigue. There was a website where someone was selling aluminum-made replicas of that piece along with the needed spring that must be used with it. Some folks who purchased it claimed that it worked very well. I ended up improvising, using that broken piece of pink plastic. I slightly modified it as well as the accompanying spring. It worked and has not failed again. If you have not done it yet, you will have to open the shifter compartment and fix the problem by either improvising or buying a replacement kit (not made out of plastic. If you have the 3D model of that piece, it is easy to make on a CNC machine or even a 3D printer (if you want it in hard plastic).

I have owned two Chrysler 300C's. I bought my first one back in 2006 after test driving one. Up until that point, I was an import lover...but that Hemi and big 'sled' of a car won me over. 3 years later my lease was up...but I wasn't done with this car. I moved on but always 'crushed' on the 300 when ever I would see one on the road. 3 years ago I decided to pick up another one and found a 2006 one owner with the only 69k miles on it! It is in perfect condition and drives just as I remember it did 12 years earlier. I'm now pushing 84k miles with zero problems and love putting my foot down every chance I get. These are great cars for the money...maybe not as luxurious as some cars, but not many 2000's American V8's have held up as well as the Hemi. Plus the 300C styling is relatively timeless. If you're looking for a car that will make you feel like you've spent a lot more than you actually did...get the 300C (Hemi).

I also loved the 300C from the day they came out. I waited on buying one until they change the body style. I didn't buy the newer one, I bought a white 300c that looks almost exactly like the one in this video. The 5.7 Hemi is a dream. I can't tell you how many people are shocked when I step on the gas and that car gets up and moves. Mine has 147000 miles on it now and doesn't have a problem with it at all. It looks like brand new, though I did recently pay to have new carpet inserts put in and new custom car mats. The leather is in perfect condition, not a scratch on it, there are no dings pings or dents in the paint or body. The chrome wheels are just as shiny as if they rolled off the showroom floor. I have gotten so many compliments on that car and I love driving it. I'm actually talking to a guy in Virginia who has one for sale. He's owned it since it was new, it was his wife's daily driver and she passed away. It's a 2005 300C just like what I have and it has 31000 miles on it. These cars have a presence, and you know that you are driving something that means business when you get behind the wheel of one of these. Although, I wouldn't own anything but a Hemi. I wouldn't buy this in a six-cylinder because the body itself is made by Daimler and it's a very heavy vehicle so it slightly outweighs the ability of a 6 cylinder engine which makes it seem sluggish. Plus this might really be one of the last real American muscle cars made in our time. These are a gem if you can find them in good condition.

The reason that Americans love the 300c is because particularly with older drivers it takes them back to when a car had a presence on the road and stood out from the rest. They had a lovely soft quiet ride and they didn't care if it handled as most driving is done in a straight line anyhow. Apart from a Rolls or a Bentley there is nothing else that stands out on the road these days all cars look like they have been stamped out of the same mold. The 300c has that feel of driving a limo and that everyone looks at and says i wish i had one of those. All Chrysler have to do is sort out there quality control and inherent mechanical issues and keep the 300c body (i don't like the later 300 look as it lost its Bentley look with the changed headlights they should not have changed that)

  • @vdgitaliano
    @vdgitaliano4 жыл бұрын

From 2005 to 2010 they sold over quarter million 300s. From 2011 to present they hadn't sold nearly that much. They ruined the bodystyle in 2011. The front looks like a Honda and the back looks like an old mote Carlo. They lost the stance and clout. By the way if your battery dies, unlock the driver door with the key, reach to the back and unlock the rear door, lower the back seat to access the trunk, climb in the trunk through the opening and reach all the way back and pull the safety release latch. Also, there are jumper terminals under the engine hood. If you are facing the engine, the termnals will be to the left behind the fuse box. As per them stopping the production of the 300, all car companies are stopping sedan production. Ford will continue to make the Mustang, Dodge will continue to make the charger and GM will continue to make the large Cadillac luxury sedan. Nobody's buying sedans hardly at all anymore which is really sad. Buick has been making some really beautiful midsize sedans for the past decade and they haven't gotten nearly the attention they deserve. Additionally Lincoln made a beautiful relaunch of the Continental which just didn't take off but the car was absolutely beautiful. It's all about the SUV's now and they all look the same.

I agree, Chrysler ruined the look with the 2011 redesign. Ralph Gilles really penned a beautiful and tasteful design with the 2005 original, the then-next generation of the 300 letter series.

12:30 The same thing happened with my 300c, the trunk arms were really worn, as if i didnt have any on.I opened the trunk and lifted it so my brother and I can put our stuff in it. I let go of it thinking that it was supported while he was bending down to pick up the house keys he dropped but he used the bottom trunk lip for balance. That made the car shake and the lid almost slammed on my brother's fingers. but luckily my rifle case was there. When I checked the case it had a big ass dent. The force of the trunk closing bent and cracked the barrel of my gun. But I'm okay with that since it kept my bro in one piece. (literally)

Hey Chad, this is the last year you can buy a new 300. Chrysler decided to quit making them. The 300 you’re reviewing isn’t in too bad a shape. I would imagine that the painted areas that show some discoloring is normal for a car of that age. I’ve been thinking of buying a new 300, they’re just a comfortable vehicle. Being up north I would want one that has all wheel drive. I’m going to keep looking but appreciate you reviewing these 300’s they’re a nice vehicle. God bless Chad.

Recently broke the drivers door handle dealer wants $275 to replace, the part on Amazon is $30 I will do my self in spring. Car drives fabulous, plenty of power with the hemi. Hey bud, good video! I had a Kia Sedona daily driver until March of this year, 2020 when it was rearended and totaled. I had three grand to play with and I wanted something that was real wheel drive, V8, American, and something I can afford that didn’t have a over-complex, bulky V8 in it. I’m definitely not a fan of the Ford modular V8s so I stayed away from Ford entirely. Couldn’t afford Cadillac so these cars really caught my eye. And the aftermarket support is really strong for these cars and the price was right, so I jumped. So you said it there; a car built in the US (or at least Canada) that’s V8 powered at a cheap price. Can’t beat it. Mine is in great shape, fully loaded, sunroof, all that and I’m stoked! Love this car! Turbos and 1000+ hp are in the distant future! No cars from outside of the US for me, AND DEFINITELY NO CARS FROM ASIA! I’m American! Ha!

Just bought my first Chrysler 300c with the Hemi engine. It’s a 2006. Has some fixing to do but is in good shape. Mostly some body stuff and needs new leather inside. Will slowly be fixing it to a new state. It is the black pearl. New frame and front end has been completed. Putting new mirrors on it next week. Needs chrome trim on driver’s doors. Engine is sound. I really like this car and feel putting some money into it to bring a little extra life into this will only add to the muscle car I am wanting to achieve.

I bought a very clean 06 300c SRTdesign with 114k (125k now) about a year ago and it's my favorite car I've ever owned! The SRT design package was basically the SRT8 without the engine, brake, or suspension upgrade. So I have the factory SRT8 seats, 20" SRT rims, and the SRT8 body trim. I wish i could upload pics, she's a nice 1st gen 300. I dont know if I'll ever sell her, short of something catastrophic happening, but it runs and drives like it's new still. Plus I'm in Michigan so finding clean rust free versions of these cars is getting harder everyday.

G'day, Chad. Very enjoyable video. Thanks. I agree the armrest/cup holder situation is (and always was) stupid, and a pull out cup holder would be better. Appears the car you tried out has been treated quite badly in it's life. Always use (Pelle) leather care on my cars, and it keeps the leather beautiful.

I'm currently on the lookout for one of these but here in Sweden they are quite expensive as the 06-08's sell for $13k+ (150.000-200.000 km). I have yet to see one below that price range.

This is been my third 5.7 hemi out of two trucks one car! never have I Heard of a seat dropping out of the heads into the cylinder but it happens more then most people know in the 2004- 2008 5.7 L hemi. I like your in-depth video review on the Chrysler 300C Hemi engine. First time I saw it I noticed the grill and I thought it was a Bentley in 2005 which is what I believe the car came out. I pulled over my 1998 Cadillac DeVille to go do a walk around on this car because I said that looks like a Bentley Grill looks like a Bentley I did a walk around and that's when I saw it was a Chrysler but it was a nice looking car I always admired the car I like the Spanish color ones and blue color Ones white to black colors of the that style car that I like and it's got power it's got this sport look and it's got a luxury look good even got stretch limos that are Chrysler 300. So I've had my 1998 Cadillac DeVille now about nine years Immaculate condition inside and out all of all black leather inside metallic silver paint on the outside with a quarter black velour roof clear coat paint that car just looks gorgeous and rides gorgeous and luxuries inside and outside and it's strange to think that that 98 Deville of mine original price tag on that 98 Deville was $43,000 in 1998 that's a lot of cash for a 1998 car does have a lot of features in electronics inside 98 Deville heated seats massager for the driver's seat as well as heated what kind of controls on the steering wheel nice car but now I'm thinking about selling my caddy and Tony got 84,000 miles on it and I'm the second owner so I don't know being I'm disabled I haven't driven it very much because of fatigue so it's basically been covered up or in the driveway I put on about 12,000 miles I guess no not even in the nine years I've had the car so it's in good shape but I really like to get ahold of a Chrysler 300 preferably something under 100,000 Mi like 90,000 would be nice you know the Chrysler 300C and my favorite color with a sunroof would be beige on the outside and the nice leather interior of course inside that standed I believe I like the chrome rims in your video those are real nice rims those are the first rims I've seen so far and KZread videos on Chrysler 300C reviews that showed actually nice rims double chrome rims they look nice and I would put some white walls on them tires 190000 is a few out there between 2005 up to 2009 data have some that are like 110,000 hundred that might be worthwhile looking into sell my caddy DeVille for good dollar cuz it's worth it I put a lot of cash into it it's keep up make sure it's in top condition that's the way to maintain them cuz you got to stay on top of them so it's working properly the right way I get the price that I'm asking for my caddy I put that towards the purchase of the Chrysler 300C. If anyone knows of some good apps that sell cars shows listings of cars free at no cost to download the App Store to view the cars on there the live on the east coast in New Jersey definitely interested in looking for a Chrysler 300C 8-cylinder the more I find out about the app hopefully a couple apps I list my caddy in it as well my caddy Deville 98 fully loaded I enjoy your video and I just started looking at these Chrysler 300C videos to learn pros and cons about Chrysler 300 and overall it seems like it's a strong crime in these cars got 190,000 miles on it when gentlemen and Pennsylvania border Chrysler 300C with 250,000 miles on it said he ain't done nothing except change the oil basic upkeep and still going strong so I can get a Chrysler 300C with 90,000 or 110,000 I think and it has sunroof and all that stuff on The Price is Right I'm going to with the chrome rims even if it don't have the chrome rims I'll get them I'd have to have my mechanic inspect the vehicle to make sure exactly what am I looking at for repairs whenever you buy something used you know you're going to have to invest some money so I have my mechanic check it out if he gives the okay then it'd be a done deal. So your videos help bring me I like to the Chrysler that you got right there with them chrome rims and yeah the pain isn't as good as the paint on my 98 Deville 98 Deville has always been every year twice a year I get a detailed and have a play Bard and then wax box down here and got no chips no fading no nothing Chrysler that just needs a little bit of Loving Care and then hopefully everything will work out come specially come springtime early spring time right now we're in the midst of February which I can't stand the winter cuz you can't do nothing to wear this dangerous slippery and icy cold can't go really looking around on the lights at the dealerships that do have the Chrysler 300 cease cuz it's just too cold out but anybody knows of applications that show listings of cars like that with all the info on there about the car and the owner how many owners there are and if the car has been in any accidents at all that info on the app is very helpful so if they know of a couple apps please forward them to me I'd appreciate that send that info to me and to the fella making this application this video did great job very enjoyable I hope you do a few more I'd like to see you restored at car that you got there in the video restored get the car painted over I don't like blackwall tires I think I would like that with Vogue Tires with the gold pinstripe with the white wall and it looks sharp with them chrome rims. I enjoy this video and I look forward to other videos on Chrysler 300 series similar to this video Style thank you.

@@frankbarcelona2118 there are few cars that have been made within the recent past that have been worth so much effort in preserving or revisiting when considering a new vehicle to drive. Most cars today lose their luster within a year or two because they appear so common and plane and cheaply made. The 2005 through 2010 Chrysler 300 was a true American Beauty and took the World by storm. I waited a long time before buying one, and the one I bought was 10 years old when I bought it in 2015. I have owned many new cars in my lifetime and I will tell you that this 300C was at the very top of any car purchase I've ever made. Yes the interior is rather simple but with the interior packages that they have in the aftermarket you can change that. It's the experience of the 300C that really gets me. There aren't many cars out on the road today that you can honestly look at and appreciate years after they were initially created. When I see them in the wrecking yards when I've looked for certain parts that I needed for mine, it makes me a little sick to my stomach to see these beautiful vehicles in ruin. They are an icon that allowed common people to feel elevated and it was one of the first times in Automotive History that you had ultra-wealthy people driving a middle-class car and saying for the first time that money didn't matter. It was a status symbol unto itself. It's a sad thing that they're stopping production on the Chrysler 300 and other sedans throughout the American car market. Buick also has had some beautiful sedans recently and they just haven't gotten the recognition that they deserved. This is an era in Automotive Manufacturing that will be missed. SUVs are pretty much all the same. because of their size and weight you can't really do much with them. But the sedans and coupes opened a wide range of possibilities where the creative mind could venture and tell new and different stories each time with each one being its own adventure in the mind of the one who drives it. Take care friend!

@@peeerrrfectkitty1898 thanks but they wouldn't like me. As much as I love the 300c, there are quite a few things with Chrysler in general that I would like to pick a bone with them about. My passion is for American ingenuity which as of late is being stifled. We have set the standard for a long time. Though luxury lineups from German and English car companies seem to be the route that most people with money take, the fact of the matter is those car companies set their manufacturing to fit an American Market with the rest of the world following behind. We as a people have a standard, a vision and a desire that leads the way in Innovation and creativity throughout the world. We just need to bring it back home and start doing it here instead of overseas. Take care friend.
