Moments like this scream really makes me miss Steph’s voice for cell saga gohan. Don’t get me wrong, Colleen does excellent as normal kid gohan and has a much more believable kid voice but steph knocked it out the park whenever she had to play an angry gohan. (I miss her kid Goku too...)

@@DavidTheMovieGuy In my opinion Colleen is perfect for kid Gohan while Steph is perfect for teen Gohan. I wish we could have both as it would also do a great job at showing that Gohan is growing and the change from Colleen to Steph could also show that Gohan is finally going through puberty.

I love it. Hell, the music actually makes the monologue suit better! And of course, Stephanie Nadolny's rendition of Teen Gohan's rage is overwhelmingly good! Truly the top of her game!

I always get goosebumps as the camera zooms in on Gohan at full power, with tears in his eyes.. its at the point where you can tell he's had enough of Cell's bullshit, but he is such a good natured kid and naturally is heart broken that it had to come to this

I thought about leaving it in! I just didn't like how it sounded against the music. The scene felt more powerful with the lyrics being front and center, to me anyway. Personal preference.

The original dub's use of 16's empathetic speech and Cell's callous dismissal of his final words, accompanied by Cell's use of "My way" is perfectly paired with TFS' musical expression of this iconic moment in anime history. This is the reason why DBZA is not only an unignorable medium through which the story of Dragonball Z can be experienced, but proof that their parody show has enhanced the memory of these iconic moments, far beyond what could have been achieved emotionally by the initial release.

I would only amend what you said about DBZA being a parody. In the beginning, especially Season 1, yes it was a total parody, but as it developed it became more of a homage to the original. And music scores like “Day of Fate” are proof of that.

I love the different variations of Cell’s final line before the transformation. The original Japanese one where he just calls 16 worthless scrap, being callous. The TFS version of “he never had a soul” which is so cutting. But this one is so good too, that final taunt to Gohan “Yet another fighter, you could’ve saved.” Just that “if you had been as strong as you say, if you had done something; he’d still be alive”. Then mixing in the TFS cover of Spirit vs Spirit; Cell needs to rethink his name because this is what true perfection is.

This is how the dub should have been from the beginning, don't get me wrong there's some badass music from Faulconer but damn, is this perfect.

I never liked the way Gohan talks in the dub right before he went SSJ2 and always preferred the silence of the Japanese but man Day of Fate makes the monologue really good

This is always been a secret we’ve known about since the day Gohan was introduced. He’s always had a power within him and we all are like this character right here. I thank you arik toryo for creating dragon Ball and if it wasn’t for this show, I would probably be dead because I was in a dark place when I was, I was bullied. I was going through hell my mom was sick with cancer and she unfortunately passed away. Dragon Ball brought me out of that dark depression if it wasn’t for this show I probably would’ve been in my life back then

This is how we should have got this moment. “Gohan’s Anger” is a great track, but Unmei no hi was written specifically for this scene.

Thanks to this video for being made... I have been able to grow past my limits ❤ 💪

And they said, the extra dialogue made it worst... It made it better!

29FALCONS 22NINERS This is different... it’s Gohan feeling of guilt. His friends and comrades die because he is too afraid of his own power Tien,Chaozu, Piccolo, Vegeta ,Krillin ,Dende if only Gohan go all out in the first place they wouldn’t die for his own weak childish way of thinking of “not fighting”. 16 remind him that he have a power to do it but he didn’t and then all of his mistakes flow into his head and then it’s explode. The moment that I could say that it have the greatest emotion impact in Dragonball, the guilt the vengeance Gohan release all that he have hold back since young and throw all of it on Cell.

I will never get tired of seeing this legendary moment for Gohan. This will always be my favorite moment. Top 10 favorite moments for Gohan. I don’t really count ultimate Mystic Gohan for the one of the best moments he was just demolishing boo but it wasn’t really as super Saiyan 2

See this, this right here has impact instead of the techno synth dribble Bruce Faulconer gave us. In the original I didn’t know this was meant to be a massive moment cause the music changed but it was the same style as everything else, but when the vocals kicked in for the Japanese and of course TeamFourStar amazing version of this scene you knew how important this was. Android 19 proved robots can feel fear, Dr Gero proved tht robots have back up plans, 16 proved robots can love.

Mackenzie Cotterell some Faulkner tracks are absolutely amazing. But only some. I’m a sub guy myself so yeah but I’ve seen the dub and also the other dub with scientist bardock. In terms of dubs, I feel like TFS is literally the best. It’s got best of both worlds

Why wouldn’t they hire someone to do this rendition of the song. It’s the most iconic moment in this series! Funimation definitely had the $$$ dollarydoos $$$ at this point. It would have been so epic……..

@@TheAllSeeingEye2468 I've only read the first few chapters of the Saiyan Saga. It was pretty good! It has a fast pace to it, which I love. Which is funny since the anime is known for its filler and dragging out it's arcs. The point of the re-dub was to reduce some of that filler

Imo the dub's extra talking during the transformation kinda ruins it a little. In both the Japanese and TFS versions, Gohan is completely silent before his transformation. The music plays after the transformation with no interruptions. In the dub, Gohan has that whole inner speech that kinda takes away from the moment, and then at the end the narrator starts talking. Sometimes silence speaks louder than words

I do really like the final part of that monologue where in his head he goes "I won't watch this anymore!" Before transitioning to his screaming.

I'm going say abridge did it better him being overwhelmed by 16 death not even internal monologue just having death wash over him until he bursted out have everything he had

Should have edited off the Gohan Monologue to be honest. It ruins the moment. His expressions are supposed to tell it all, not a monologue of exactly what he's feeling.

That Gohan cant shut up in this just is annoying. The silence and just the music in the japanese version is so more powerfull.

Faulconer music is fire the problem is that the music that was played didn’t really fit the scene, same with Vegeta blowing himself up.
