I know right. He’s awesome and I can’t believe I only discovered his band today. I’ve been missing out big time.
I fell in love with this band and their music the first time I heard them.. Start Wearing Purple!

My case is absolutely the same. And so I am Russian hearing native language right in the middle of "Start wearing purple" was shocking to me. Firstly I thought "Ow, another good band from Moscow with English-Russian lyrics", but later I found out that they are more than "another band". Another super breathtaking band!
There is more charisma in a worn shoe than in that host! There is no energy or connection with the power of the music and the strength of the band. You listen to the musicians and reach such a state of excitement that you only feel drawn down to the floor with a slap when hearing the sleeping-like voice of the host.
"Everybody's grandmother is Romania" LOL
I love this band so much
I'm sorry, it needs to be said: that violinist is a huge badass.

Fave ...how come i missed these guys until this late date.../??love them
I've seen them twice on the East Coast a few years back, still amazing to watch these in studio videos. Eugene is just incredible.Gypsy Punks Forever!!
Thank you Gogol Bordello!
Eugene seems like a very likable person- he probably makes friends everywhere
"The more you tour the world, the more you realize everyone's grandmother is from Rumania." Yes. It's literally true in my case, and it feels metaphorically true in even broader ways.
I find Hütz vastly more impressive than most musicians. Put yourself in his shoes -- imagine emigrating to Ukraine and becoming a big rock star over there, singing in Ukrainian. Regardless of how you might feel about the Ukrainian record business, that would be hard to pull off in any country. And the US is the biggest, richest & most dog-eat-dog of them all. Yet, he's done exactly that -- he's come to the US as an immigrant, picked up English as a 2nd language, and has managed to write better music than 99.99% of the country.

Dieuaimebeethoven Not many people can do what he does. It is both a blessing and a curse to be raised by musicians. The 7 string guitar. Who does that?

+Dieuaimebeethoven I wish Eugene was like my older brother or something. Just so I could hang out with him and hero worship him and go on adventures with him and the gang.

The best don't need a studio. Kurt Cobain was famously anxious right before Nirvana's MTV unplugged performance. It was the best performance of his career. The most toxic thing in the world for a musician (or any artist for that matter) is to become comfortable.

+dippydoo dangle Bad example of a non studio situation. Garcia would have been a better example, but then again he didnt take the shotgun exit he rode it out....so wtf was your point??

Could not agree more. Just started listening to this on my headset (with my phone in pocket) while I was doing some stuff and I couldn't wait to stop and comment how terrible the host is. Not interested in the band at all... Despite that, Hutz was great

That's because he is not hyped, doesn't mean he is a bad host. His questions are appropriate and suit well. It's just an introvert meeting an extrovert :)
He's so sexy and talented. I adore this band.
good live

Am I the only person that thinks the fiddle player totally looks like Billy Connolly?
