Who else had a big smile when mothra returned? Our hearts broke when she sacrificed herself in king of the monsters - so happy they brought her back.

I need an avengers style team up of Kong, Godzilla, Mothra, Suko and Shimo vs An army of ancient Kaiju. Maybe something buried in the deep ocean.

Or better yet, introduce more of Godzilla’s alien rogues gallery with Space Godzilla, Gigan, and maybe Mechaghidorah. But seeing them team up for Biollante or Desteroyah would be cool.

I’d love it if they could get Gamera in there as well as some classic Toho monsters, specifically Anguirus.

Her size is even bigger than Godzilla. Imagine having rescue dog that big.

Its crazy how good the movie looked with a budget of 135 million. Oh and it was a great movie.

Kong using a smaller Kaiju as Nunchucks was hilarious

Some guy in my screening called Suko “Diddy Kong” and that immediately caught on.

Favorite Kaiju for me is Kong! Brains over brawn but Kong has both.

This was pretty good. I liked the world building and the production design/VFX. I like the mythology and the hollow earth story more than the monsters fighting each other. I hope this series continues with this cast of characters

I liked it, I was expecting a more dangerous Shimo, it didn't bother me that it was such a pet, they should have taken advantage of Shimo more in the sense of threat.

I hope this movie do really really well. I enjoy this movie so much, and I'm definitely going to watch it a few more times in the big screen... just like I did with the last one, 7 times actually. I grew up with Godzilla, watching it on TV back in the early 80s when I was little, them original Toho ones. So to be able to watch them in this fantastic quality, I'm just appreciating and very grateful I get this opportunity. The fact that u sat around so much GXK fans in the cinema and shared their excitement, made me feel so excited for u too, Grace ❤ And thank u so much for this fantastic review! 👏👏👏👏👏

This film was pure popcorn eating fun beginning to end. I'm glad we got this film to help balance the cosmic scales after Godzilla Minus One. Two opposite ends of the Kaiju film spectrum so well realized, I love it! Also my favorite was Scar King. While I can't condone his abuse of Shimo...yikes, I have to say he was oozing charisma which I appreciate in a villian. Also Shimo looked amazing! The VFX held up in daytime for all the Kaiju, which is something I hadn't seen before from the Monsterverse.

I wanted to scream when Mothra came back. But I was heartbroken when Tiamat got killed. She was built up so dang much in the comics it felt almost criminal to have her die the way she did.

I'm prolly the only one but I wish that Skar King and Kong should of had an ultimate 1v1 brawl in the last act instead of Scar King being frozen and smashed to death. Scar King's first appearence was dope but overall he just didnt feel like a huge threat to me.

I think the “Sun” in the hollow earth is the earth’s core.

In the monarch series, it's explained to be a parallel world's, and those are portals, not holes to the core.

Scar King had one of the coolest fighting style I've seen for a Kaiju, like he had skills and finesse, heck even Godzilla struggled to get a clean hit ha.

For me I loved Mothra being here but I felt a bit underwhelmed that she didn't get to do much. I feel she should've had more of an influence in the final fight maybe even an evil counter part like the classic kaiju Battra! But hey she's still alive by the end of the movie! So Mothra movie maybe? 👀

Godzilla will squash ghostbusters after this weekend that’s for sure ! Dune 2 is still full in my local Sydney IMAX screens… love to see it 🔥

Mothra has always died and come back so it's really fitting she did it again. It really is a throw back to the Showa era. I would have loved more Godzilla in it though. He was so over powered and grumpy lol loved it

They also took out all three pyramids of Giza. Imagine those being there for millions of years and just to be wiped out in 5 minutes.

Great Review - you understand what Monsterverse is all about. This movie is on pace to make 70-75 million opening weekend after 10 million in previews. RT sitting at 55, but audience score 92. Critics just don't get it, but the audience does. Don't need Citizen Kane to enjoy a movie.

Hi grace! Love your reviews! As a longtime Godzilla fan, I enjoyed the film. My dad’s a Kong fan and these films are something we bond over, so I can’t wait to see his reaction to the movie today. I’m taking him and my cousins. They’re gonna love it, I just know it. Also, in the non spoiler review you said there was a kaiju you’d like a toy of. Was that Kaiju Shimo? Because playmates will be releasing an 11” figure later on this year. Right now they just have a 6” which I bought with the Godzilla 2 pack

13:20 To explain Godzilla nuclear absorption, he actually converts it into bio energy; although it gives off a high radiation reading, through its conversion it’s not lethally radioactive to humans. The AppleTV Monarch show briefly went over that when they went to the abandoned nuclear power plant.

I give it B+ . A bit chessy, I like in Godzilla king of the monsters, it was dark and the villains were more evil. The Kuju in this movie were a bit too animated for my liking. And totally didn't like Shimo became like a pet for Kong at the end.

Just saw it and wow, this was soooo good! I really thought it was gonna be Ok as best, but finally some great titan action! And the human characters were actually likeable

JUST got back from seeing it and WHAT A BLAST! I had such a fun time! The movie flied by and I was never bored. Great job on both Godzilla and Kong and all the characters and monsters. I am very excited for another movie.

I don't know if the Apple TV series is directly connected to this movie but they did establish that The Hollow Earth is kind of in a different dimension where even time runs differently.

I just got home from watching this movie and I had a blast. It was great. My nephew and I saw it.

I would love to see a story depicting Godzilla’s initial conflict with Skar King. That battle must’ve been intense if Godzilla had to send him and his army to “hell”

I know the US Navy has been going downhill, but when a CO has to man the helm of a submarine and is taking orders from a commander, that’s where I draw the line.

I was also surprised and beyond ecstatic for Mothra reveal.

Watched this movie with my dad, my brother, and my nephew. We all have VERY different tastes but went because the nephew is a big Kaiju/titans fan (it's a phase?). Easy to say, we ALL enjoyed the movie. Not 10 mins go by without some monster action. It so satifying and fullfiling to see a good team up movie. I have actually enjoyed all these Godzilla and Kong movies and I might even watch the Apple TV show related to all of this.

Saw this movie yesterday as a double feature along with Ghostbusters. Saying that the destruction made made you feel small is an understatement. Compare to Ghostbuster where the destruction only happens in New York City (but not as grand scale), Godzilla x Kong really brings out the concern. Those poor people were just doing their everyday thing", then BAM Godzilla shows up!

I had so much fun watching this movie last night for Thursday night. The first movie ive ever went in ipening night for cause i didnt want any spoilers.....so worth it! So happy its doing well at the box office!

I just saw it. It was over the top fun. No issues whatsoever. How about the next Kaiju battle be in…. NYC.!! AND Kong can climb the Empire State Building but not die this time… 🙏🏽👍🏽

You know, this is pretty much the story of the core gods of olympus. Poseidon and zeus were actually twin gods in another myth till Poseidon's worshippers became seafarers. Its why shimo amd Godzilla look alike. GHIDORA was chronos, mothra is Rhea, Godzilla is zeus (soverign of primordials), Shimo is poseidon, Kong is hades, new jailer of titans and underworld (hollow earth). Skarking was Tartarus.

Watched the movie in IMAX this past weekend and really enjoyed it. Minus the two dudes who kept giggling and chatting the whole movie.

That's what I was saying universal should cash in on making a godzilla x kong into the hollow world experience ride they basically got the whole blueprint to style of the ride.

How cool would it be if the blade on the end of Scar Kings whip was actually a piece of Space Godzilla!? Which would explain why it would be able to subdue Shimo! I really hope they introduce Gigan soon so we can get into more of the aliens of the Showa era. ❤

What I don't get is why doesn't scar king get cold while riding Shimon? 😅

You can tell Mothra was kind of put into the film last moment. Wasn't she suppose to be reborn from an egg she laid before her death in GKOTM? There was no egg and her larva form. Mothra originally wasn't suppose to be in the film but instead an original Kaiju named Fosphera.

Glad you liked the movie - I completely loved it! THIS is the kind of thing that true pulp fiction aspires to! As for the radioactivity; no, Grace, science doesn't work in the Godzilla universe as it does in the real world. Godzilla absorbs radiation; he does not radiate it! He is a *protector* of mankind! Even those buildings he smashed up were almost certainly evacuated, as people knew he was in the vicinity.

I saw the movie on Thursday night. And tell you that the movie was great. I enjoyed it very much. A lot of surprises in the movie. Like Mothra and the other titans. I liked the music. He played KISS (I was made for Lovin You) Turning me Me loose by Loverboy. And other songs I grew up listening to. I was so optimistic . About the movie. I Guess watching Godzilla Minus One. But it was Very entertaining and very good. I’m a Huge Godzilla fan. Now we know how? Godzillas new power source Now we all know how Godzilla got his powers from a different titan. It Looks liked looks like Manda 🐉. When I saw Godzilla and Kong running side by side. It looks like Batman and Robin. 😂 From a Scale of 1-10. Give it a 8.9

I think when they revealed Mothra they should have played the Claire de Lune, which worked so very well in the King of the Monsters trailer. With Mothra, you want to evoke not menace but majesty.
