(in 1993 mechagodzilla took down godzilla by taking down a second brain he had in his hips. he had this because decades ago, stegosaurus (one of the dinosaurs godzilla was originally based on) was thought to have a second brain in it's hips because the brain in the skull was absolutely tiny).

I’ve been following this series since Bieber Vs Beethoven back in 2011, Peter and Lloyd are iconic early KZread legends and they always will be. My favorite thing about these videos is their ability to make me interested in character/real figures I knew little about or hardly cared about at all beforehand, via the magic of words and sick beats. Tons of fans have created their own inspired rap battle videos over the years, some have impressed me surely, but in my opinion there is no candle to be held against ERB’s heartfelt works of art. 88 down now, hope they make it to at least 100, regardless of when they hang up the mics for good, I’ve enjoyed nearly every lyrical spar they’ve given us.

The 'Lizzie' part. Is a reference to the Rampage series. Where 'Godzilla' is actually a woman who can transform into the monster. I think they called the 'King Kong' character George in that series. A man that can transform into Kong. Later, they made a giant Werewolf character in the series too. His name was Ralph.

So, if your not old enough to have gotten the chance to play Rampage the Nintendo game, in the game you play as either this lady that transforms into Godzilla, or a man that can transform into King Kong, and you can beat down buildings or eat people, right. The "My voice cuts deep like I'm rubbing on a double bass" line was great. That is how they produced Godzilla's original roar in the 1950's. They soaked a glove in pine oil and rubbed it on a double bass.

I love ERBs stuff, but holy shit, this is their best one yet. I've replayed it a minimum of 40 times.

I start to feel ashamed of how many times I have rewatched this since it was posted by ERB, but then I watch it again and it's so damn good I realize I have no business being ashamed of how many times I have rewatched this!

The "Kaiju haiku" section being an actual haiku that still flowed within the structure of the verse...damn, Godzilla.

I can’t believe no one pointed out the double meaning behind the Donkey Kong joke, so I’m going to do it myself. So on top of Godzilla calling King Kong an ass, Nintendo literally made an ass of King Kong and Universal in 1983 because Universal lost a lawsuit with Nintendo over Donkey Kong, which actually ended up putting King Kong into the Public Domain. So not only is it a reference to how Donkey is another term for ass, but it’s also referencing how Universal lost a Lawsuit to Nintendo in 1983. Easily one of the coolest references I’ve seen in a rap battle to date. Actual peak!

Well King Kong being public domain is actually a bit shaky. Basically, before the 1933 movie, there was a novel written of the movie a year prior, 1932. That novel is now in public domain simply cause… no one bothered to renew it. So you can teeeeechnically use King Kong through the novel… but it’s still extremely risky and shaky However, in 2029 it will get easier, cause then the 1933 movie will enter public domain too

After listening to this 100+ times, man it’s such a great and even battle. Although i see people saying in the comments how savage the “kaiju” line is but i honestly dont know what kaiju means nor do i get the reference, nor did i watch any of the pacific rim films, but still this battle is killer!

You can absolutely see that Peter and Lloyd did the mocap for their characters 😂 Peter has such specific moves when he films these 😂

The Pompei line from Godzilla is a reference to Rage across time, where he literally causes the event. You can tell they had a lot of fun with the history of the characters.

I had to watch it 8 times back to back, damn this is packed with some info and straight up insults... each time I watch the winner changes

Kong had some deadly punchlines but Godzilla had the most consistent bars.

Not even close. Not that it is a bad line at all, it's just that there was more intellectual lines in others of their work, like Zeus vs Thor and especially Joker vs Pennywise
